Why I'd Rather Stand Up Straight Than Lean In

Commented Apr 5, 2013 at 14:10:10 in Women

“I love this article. I have the same reaction to "Leaning In." I don't want to push push push for more career success. Instead of asking women to be more like men in the workforce, why don't we ask men to be more like women? More collaborative. Less competitive. More appreciative. Less egotistical. More concerned with family. Less with the next promotion and pay raise. Thank you for this valuable piece.”

Rhonda M on Apr 10, 2013 at 23:57:55

“Sigh...that's exactly what the book says - men need to be real partners at home. Sandberg points out that women tried to emulate men when they first infiltrated male-dominated jobs some 30 years ago and it did not work. There are surely legitimate criticisms of this book but what you are suggesting just does not appear in the book.”

“Good for you for taking charge of your wellbeing and knowing what was best for you. In spite of the gate being locked, I'm sure you were free to leave. Several people left during the course when I was there, as well. Namaste!”

Commented Oct 21, 2013 at 14:03:21 in Healthy Living

“Have you ever made a vision board? It has proven a very powerful practice for me and many of my clients. Sorry it sounds "adolescent and superficial" to you. Best wishes.”

Kai Ferano on Oct 21, 2013 at 15:36:09

“Well, a vision board sounds to me somewhat like a mandala, which can penetrate the unconscious and prompt "psychic creativity." In that case I can understand the value of a vision board.”

Are You Choosing Someone Who Isn't Choosing You?

Commented Sep 27, 2013 at 16:09:56 in Women

“I have been there! And I, too, found that I had to start by choosing myself. Somehow I felt unworthy of being fully chosen. After doing a ton of work on myself- yoga, meditation, therapy, retreats - I discovered that I was the one I was waiting for... I dumped the non-committal guy... And then True Love arrived at my doorstep!”

“Hi Mark, I've been following your posts for a while, which are deeply moving and troubling at the same time. I sit on the board of HOPE Foundation, an Irish NGO working with street kids and prostitutes of Calcutta, India. The founder is coming to LA/SF in late Sept, and I would LOVE to introduce her to you or someone on your team if possible. I'm also a HuffPost blogger. Would love to find ways to collaborate on issues of street kids. Can you Facebook message me (I'm the only MeiMei Fox) or tweet me @meimeifox ? Hope to speak to you soon! Thank you for all the amazing work you are doing in the world - you're very inspiring.”

“Hi Margaret! I asked Grey and he wrote: "Word from the science team is this: technically, anything that produces carbon dioxide, and thus attracts mosquitoes, could benefit from a sufficient quantity of our compounds that block mosquitoes' ability to find and track towards that carbon dioxide. Now, the big question: how many Kite Patches will be needed to cover the exhale of a horse! Awesome question."”

“I would love to try this out on my little grandson, who gets bit like you. When I clicked on Kite, it said the link doesn't work, so how do you back the campaign?

It would be fantastic if it works on horses because they die from West Nile virus and I hate having to give our horses the vaccine.”
