“The GOP is still trying to make up for the eyebrow raising thing Mitt performed during the debate when he thought he "had" the president pinned on a quote. It was priceless and they were rightfully embarrassed.”
Neil Evansan on May 19, 2013 at 13:07:05
“Rombotomy got the "quote" right.
The only problem for him and his Campaign Staff ..... they got most of their "news headlines" directly from the Drudge website, from Limbaugh's radio rants, and from the FAUX Nooz 24/7 talking heads circus.
And of course, from the Karl Rove talking points.”
“"New disclosures about his behavior have dredged up his past, and he has tried to distract from those by staging attention-grabbing stunts, like debating a cutout... "
If you saw the clip you would know that his disjointed erratic performance debating a cardboard cut out confirmed his suspect past behaviors. He is unstable and also used his job, therefore the tax payers money, as a screen to visit his South American honey.”
“An armed public would not have helped in any way in Boston.”

“Neither would it have hurt.”

“An armed and paranoid public probably would have resulted in the deaths and injuries to a lot of collateral victims. I would not have wanted to be brown or "arab" looking if a bunch of vigilantes had been out in their neighborhoods looking for the bombers”
Linnea Caldeen on May 4, 2013 at 15:18:15
“Exactly. Who would have been shot?? Guns could have contributed to that rush-to-judgment-and-execution that we saw after 9/11. Besides, a gun versus a bomb? Nobody wins that contest.”
samidean on May 4, 2013 at 15:15:52
“No, there would have just been many more casualties.
“Seriously, Mark Sanford has some personal problems that are huge. He is obviously consumed by them. He still knew how to work the vote to get back this far again in the political process. As voters we will have to be active in studying and picking candidates. It looks like politics has become an easy income with no ethics or representation from almost half of our government. This is wrong and lazy voters are letting it happen.”
outpost102 on Apr 18, 2013 at 09:13:57
“It is obvious that there is no ethics when it comes to politics. There is no character checks and if they want background checks so bad, they should start with themselves. We all know that they believe they are above the law and above the rest of the American people.”
“Not to be too critical but with only two ears and three eyes( one being shared) would that be 2 faces or 1 1/2 faces. SO I am off now to investigate the difference between two heads and two faces as I am a fan of the epic stories of days gone by. www.perseus.tufts.edu/Herakles/cerberus.html”
“The bullying shows no respect, no remorse, and no moral conduct. Behavior like this is condoning the initial right to rape. It encourages the worse of pack behavior. It is a huge problem that should be addressed seriously.”
“He is not exactly cutting entilements ... he is cleaning up the books and overlaps but still I do not want him to touch it whlie the House is so anti anything. Yes, there are self centered dems but the the Repubs take the prize for personal advancement at the cost of the Nation. They make their fortune being obstructive.”
“Exercise does get rid of body toxins that fatigue our thoughts. I'll send some good hugs your way by prayer. Read some amusing books. The series by jante evanovich with the heroine Stephanie Plum will really make you laugh. Do not give up on yourself, depression is very serious, and I wish you tons of warrior spirit.”

“Thank you very much for recommending the book.I will have to find it.”
“Let us hope the Republicans are set in their plan to say no to Obama all the time and reject this budget. We MUST vote the GOP out of their strangle hold in the Congress. This next election must unseat them. As an Aside: What is making them be so obstructionist ? What are they receiving for their personal and self centered effort ?? The GOP in the House and Senate are blatantly working against even their own constituents wishes.”
themikeaustin on Apr 5, 2013 at 19:31:25
“I loathe the Republicans, but you absolutely have GOT to stop pretending it's all their fault. Obama has wanted to cut entitlements since before he was first elected. It HIS budget that contains these cuts, it's HIS choice to do this. If he had even a 10th of a backbone, he would have stood up to the deficit scolds.”
“Sanford lied to the taxpayers and used their money and time for his personal feel good. That is his record. Maybe the race for the win should be about dedication and proven experience. That would be Colbert Busch.”
“So the GOP slides freedom and rights to the lowest common denominator of the southern white male. Lack of intelligence prevents the species from learning from the documented history of other dictators.”
“I would think that marriage "fraud" has been used for years already by all combinations of male /female friends. What a silly complaint. I know a gal who married a gay man because they were the best of friends and I know a man and a woman who married for friendly companionship. I would bet we all know examples. Marriage is not only about sex it is about love, respect, nurture, and comfort.. And just to complicate the issue of procreation, nurture, sex, respect, comfort, and greed and betrayal heterosexuals invented divorce.”
“$150 to euthanize and $150 to dispose of. I do it for my animals but most people do not. Those people walk away, turn them loose, or let them starve. It is awful.”

“If there was a government program to call with government paid vets with drugs, this would not happen. I would rather subsized humane treatment of horses than horse-slaughterers. There are more humane plans for this issue in the congress.
BTW, The head of the USDA is against horse slaughter b/c he says it cannot be done humanely, in accordance with the USDA policys.”
“No, the wild horses are protected by contract with the ranches. The neglect, abandonment, and abuse is from people who are in over their heads financially and knowledge wise with a livestock animal. A thousand pound horse need 25 lbs of roughage a day and a constant source of water to live. Without management (supplemental feeding) a horse in the western states needs 20 acres per horse. The abuse has been getting worse and worse and is now rampant.”
“"In Oklahoma, as in other states, abuse is tragically common among horses that are reaching the end of their natural lives," the Republican governor said. "Those of us who care about the wellbeing of horses – and we all should – cannot be satisfied with a status quo that encourages abuse and neglect, or that rewards the potentially inhumane slaughter of animals in foreign countries."
Well said governor. This is a necessary option for our favorite livestock animal. It has been horrible seeing neglect and abuse becoming a common sight.”

“Although it is cited to be the last stop for old & unwanted animals this could not be further from the truth. In a study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (Dr. Temple Grandin) it was shown that 92.3% headed to slaughter were young & healthy. Slaughter promotes a salvage or secondary market that enables over-breeding & poor breeding practices. These operations are not a service for debilitated & unwanted animals but a service for killers to buy the healthiest animals for profit to supply the EU meat market.”

“Then, do something about it. As for the governor of Oklahoma, she can stay there.”
“I am a science teacher and taught sex education in 7th and 8th grade public school in the later 60's and early 70's. Proper words for the proper parts.
I am sure the whole story has more to consider; but, using correct words should not be a big deal. Respect for the kids and respect for the subject is necessary. Some of these kiddo's were/are already sexually active and not getting even simple biological information for their health and safety. I do not think times or kids have changed, education is important.”
