The strong figures were driven by a race to take advantage of a tax credit of up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers. The credit has since been extended to next spring, but the government initially planned to end it Nov. 30.

I'm guessing after health care is tackled, which is probably the toughest fight that will benefit the most people, this admin didn't want to throw many other issues into the mix.

I'm expecting more aggressive positions to come. I think people are writing this health care legislation off as some kind of failure.
