“I find it harder to believe that people take Steven Colbert seriously. "Oh, he's just pretending to be liberal. He actually believes everything he says in his show!" Fortunately it's not the majority, but there are some DUMB people in this country.”
Palin Foe Frozen Out of Auction When Identity Revealed

“Kind of like posting comments on hillaryis44.com. Back when that freaky site was still in the news I tried posting a couple of honest questions which weren't even remotely negative towards Hillary, and they never showed up (and I genuinely wanted to hear what they had to say!). Then I noticed that literally every single comment that was shown was 100% brown nose. Not surprised that Palin is following the same route.
You'd think if nothing else, she might have at least learned from Michael Jackson's mistake of surrounding himself with sycophantic yes-men (both of them being such media darlings and all). Guess not.”

Never Should Have Built it There -- New York

“For what it's worth I've never heard a single New Yorker suggest we should do anything but protect New Orleans. Most of the chatter about how they just shouldn't live there has seemed to come from the same kind of people who feel like the Northeast doesn't understand "the real America."”

“True statement Moarku. New Yorkers have always been supportive. I think tragedy binds us. Thank you for the support.”

“Hey, New Yorker here, one who donated as much as i could of my $$ to the victims after the disaster and continue to support the city with tourism dollars every year since. You're an idiot.”

“"people were just angry when he took votes away from Gore."
In the short term, I think was the case. But in the long term - especially when he came back on the scene in 2008 - it became clear that he's really just in it for his own self-aggrandizement.
If he truly cared about fighting the two party system, why didn't he spend the past 8 years trying to build a new party by getting Representatives at either the state or federal level elected? Even Ross Perot did that, and he wasn't building towards another presidential run. Nader essentially vanished off the scene and then came back 8 years later to try and do it all again. This time the voters knew better.”

New Evidence: Palin Had Direct Role In Charging Rape Victims For Exams

“I don't see what the problem is here. From what I've read elsewhere she left her town of 6,000 people $20million in debt by the time she left office. Given that her tenure as Mayor was 6 years, that means she might have saved her town as much as $84,000.
Can you imagine how much worse off Wasilla would be if it were $20,084,000 in debt instead of only $20,000,000. I mean come on, the numbers alone tell you it's well worth taking advantage of a few women who have just been through the most traumatic experience of their lives in order to keep the city from going another 0.42% in debt.
McCain/Palin 08
Meet the new boss. Worse than the old boss!”

“Wow, I knew he had backed out of an interview because someone dared to ask tough questions of his running mate, but somehow I missed the fact that it was Larry King.
Why would ANYONE back out of an interview with Larry King? He's not a journalist, freely admits to doing no homework (supposedly so he asks the same questions lay people would), and basically lets his guests say whatever they want without EVER being challenged. What's he got to be afraid of?”

“One thing I find hilarious about this is Cindy's explanation of why it was so necessary to buy a second apartment in the same complex. "I couldn't get into the place."
I recently moved out of a pretty decent sized 1 bedroom (decent sized by New York standards). Before I moved in, the same apartment was home to a family of SEVEN (I couldn't imagine sharing that space with more than one other person). Now I don't have a problem with someone buying multiple homes if they can afford it. And I don't have a problem with her saying, "I wanted some privacy, so I got another place there," or, "They used it so much, I bought them one of their own," or whatever. But her approach has a real, "Let them eat cake," ring to it.”

Long Journey Into the Knight

“Just out of curiosity, why did you bother going to the movie to begin with? Given your general attitude and the list of movies you just put down , I could have told you that you'd hate Dark Knight even before I had seen it myself.
Assuming what you say is true (though it wouldn't surprise me if getoffthecross is correct when he suggests you just pulled that list off of Neflix), it's pretty clear you robbed YOURSELF of that two hours. Perhaps if your list included even ONE action film from the past 30 years or so, maybe I could buy it (but to be fair, I haven't seen There Will Be Blood yet, so I'm not sure if that qualifies as "action"). But regardless of whether you're being genuine about that part or not, I call shenanigans.”

“Actually, Verizon is just as culpable with the wiretapping as AT&T. To my knowledge, the only company that stood up to the government and asked for *gasp* a warrant was Qwest. And by sheer coincidence, they just happened to lose out on all the government contracts they were up for right after that, which is why they're just barely a regional carrier these days.”

“While you do have points about rollover minutes and how minutes are counted, you're attributing comments to her that she didn't make.
Nothing in the article suggests that AT&T doesn't use BlackBerries. She's bringing up that point because of the superior network of Verizon and that all of her friends are on it. As for the network, though it's true that AT&T has gained a lot of ground, Verizon is still better nationally, so though you may not be having problems, that isn't necessarily the case with everyone. The second part is MUCH more important, because all Verizon customers get free calls to any other Verizon customer. If you just happen to have a lot of friends using it too, that's a whoooole lot of minutes you're saving.
I do find it funny though that the image HufPo put up on the main page for this article doesn't actually show the BlackBerry curve, but a much older model. :D”
