My question was in that case why not let the states decide voting rights, slavery etc. Are you suggesting that the "behemoth federal government" as you call it was wrong to abolish slavery nationwide, rather than let the states decide.

“There is a precedent where basketball players who are sponsored by Reebok (for example) aren't required to wear a uniform with a Nike logo, even when the team they're playing on is sponsored by them.

If Jerry cared enough, he could have said, "I have a contract, so you'll have to move your product placement somewhere else." So maybe he didn't care, or maybe his contract ran out so it's a non issue. Or about half a dozen other possibilities.”
