“If you really didn't care, you would have discovered the subject of the article and moved on, instead you decided to leave a negative and insulting comment towards Paul Walkers movies and the fans of his movies. Paul Walker wasn't the greatest actor and by no means were the Fast and Furious movies cinematic achievements of pushing the art form, but they did something for many people that movies are supposed to do at the end of the day...entertain. Thats exactly why they did for millions of people. Fans know the movies have ridiculous plots, paper thin characters and shoddy acting, but the movies were never about that anyway. It was about action, fast cars and tough guys which the movies delivered in spades. If its not your cup of tea, fine, but don't get on your high horse and judge other people that do dig the movies.”

“Good lord, some people are so petty, small and negative. Why do people bother leaving insulting comments about something they claim they don't care about? If you weren't a Paul Walker fan or don't understand the reaction to his death...fine, but why are you still clicking on the article just to complain about how much you don't care?”

andromedaa on Dec 9, 2013 at 00:10:11

“I did click on it because the headline didn't mention Paul Walker. It only said 'It's Heartbreaking'. I still don't care much about whoever, for I didn't know Paul or his work. Somehow I wasn't impressed by Fast&Furious franchise and I still believe it is cinematic junk that I will never watch, much less pay for it.

I can't blame Paul though for being involved in it. It was, afterall a paycheck. If enough fools would pay me to act in something stupid, I'd do it too.

At the end of the day, he died in a stupid accident. Many people do. Me I can't feel that his talent will forever be missed. And if HP labeled their headlines better, you'd have never found out my 'I don't care' diatribe.”

“I don't understand people like you. You claim you don't care and theres more important matters, yet here you are complaining about something thats "irrelevant" and making baseless assumptions about the people who do care about his death The reason celebs like Paul Walker get this sort of reaction when they die is because they represent fond memories in people lives and maybe even inspired them in some way. I know many car nuts who became car fanatics because of the Fast and The Furious franchise and now have promising careers in the industry. Paul Walker represented happy times and fond memories to the people who enjoyed his movies and work, thats why there's so many mourning his death. It doesn't hurt that Paul Worker was known for charitable efforts and was actually at a charity event he started when he was killed. Nobody is worshiping him, just paying their respects.”

“This is why I laugh at all the "Obama is anti-corporations" crap. Obama sadly doesn't stray too far from the usual mindset in Washington. Both parties are beyond useless and our democracy in general is a joke.”

“Why is this always the SAME TIRED response by many gun advocates when it comes to this debate? Frankly both sides are ridiculous and childish. They jump to extremes and distill everything into left vs right talking points. NEWSFLASH, I know many liberals that own guns (like myself) and I know many on the right that look down on guns and their owners. Thats why I'm sick to death of the right vs left crap when it comes to the gun issue. Its all simplistic nonsense and empty talking points from both sides with ZERO nuance.”

“Some of the comments are ridiculous. Suddenly because drugs might have been involved, their deaths are less troubling and people have no empathy or compassion. Ugh you people make me sick with your high horse judgements. Nevermind the family members left behind and dealing with the murder of their loved ones right before Thanksgiving. No because they had drug issues, their deaths are somehow justified or less tragic. You don't even know if the murder is directly related to their drug use or not, its so typical of American society to look at EVERYTHING through simple terms and instant judgement. No nuance or compassion. Screw all of you people.”

“Still, most ADHD diagnosis are BS. I remember my teacher trying to get my mother to believe I had ADHD when in reality I just like any normal kid. Most kids at a young age can't sit still or pay attention to things, especially if its boring or doesn't interest, heck adults can be the same way. While ADHD is a real problem, most kids are diagnosed with it simply because they're acting like a normal kid.”

Kingbreaker on Nov 22, 2013 at 20:55:41

“Environment plays a huge role, in my speculation. Kids are rewarded for being inattentive on a nanosecond basis by constantly changing music, video, and social media, via their digital crack devices. That, and the fact that a lot of kids don't go outside _ever_ these days, are almost certainly correlated to ADHD.”

Jeanne Rhodes-Moen on Nov 22, 2013 at 20:13:00

“Some, but not most, are misdiagnosed....if you believe that, then you probably don't truly understand what it is. Many adults who have spent their lives not being able to live up to their potentials, in spite of constant efforts dealing with this every day. The inattentive type is much harder to see because it is less obvious, but it can be even more destructive psychologically because it wrecks your self image to constantly hear things like "why can't you live up to your potential?" or "stop being lazy" when they aren't. The most frustrating thing is that many of these people can do other things such as teach themselves a skill far beyond normal levels IF they are interested in it, while the ability to do daily, mundane tasks elude them, no matter how hard they try.”

Not to mention the claim TM was going for it as well. Its pure fiction. The more you think about it, the more ridiculous is sounds.”

“Sorry but I don't understand the logic of TM somehow being in the wrong for reacting to someone that was following him in a car, and then on foot at night. I've NEVER believed Zimmerman story and accounts, it sounds like pure BS to justify the shooting. So TM was punching him, choking him, smashing his head into the ground AND reaching for a gun located on his lower back TUCKED INSIDE HIS PANTS? Please. How could TM have even seen the gun, let alone reached for it considering TM knees would have been blocking access? Its maddening that people believe his story and construct this argument that somehow the person being followed by a armed man is somehow at fault for not dealing with the situation better. GZ staying in his truck and letting the police handle it would have prevented the whole mess. His latest actions only reinforce that GZ isn't the innocent concerned citizen that his defenders paint him to be.”

“Not only that, but how could Zimmerman himself have reached that gun when Martin was supposedly on top of him with his knees on his shoulders, pinning his arms to the ground?”

Plus if you were looking to ambush someone, you wouldn't call their name out first and ask them questions. Its complete nonsense and even after Zimmerman various runs ins with the law and domestics disputes including threatening his wife with a gun, people are STILL holding up his BS story as the gospel. “Thanks and we need more like you too with clear thinking and the willingness to share good ideas. We ARE getting traction, but the loud and boisterous voices of the naysayers drown out any acknowledgement of our progress. The naysayers said nothing when the auto industry came back; they looked the other way when the housing industry recovered enough for buying and selling homes to occur again; they were silent when the deficit was cut in half; and when job growth reached 204,000 in October (a first since the steady job growth figures), there was the sound of silence. Now with the first sign of cracks in the historic Obamacare law they fought to repeal 48 times, it is no wonder that they run to the defense of the 3% hurt instead of working with others to assist the 97% who stand to gain significantly. Why are they not railing against the Health Insurance Industry that wants to take us back to high costs, low performance, and scam plans. We must fight for our families, as others have done before us, shedding their blood, sweat, and tears to achieve American ideals and to overcome, as is our tradition, the purveyors of injustice. It is our time. We must act to secure our nation and its democracy. Let's smile, join hands, work together, and get rid of the naysayers and the foot draggers that have been wrongly elected. After all, we're here to serve others, not just ourselves. My view, anyway.”

“I like your optimism, but the status quo benefits those in power and the American populace is driven by emotion and simple talking points when it comes to democracy. Its the recipe for our current system. We only have a select few politicians actually working for the American people, while others give us lip service but show their incompetence or complicity when it comes to actually fighting for the folks. I just don't see any realistic solutions with our current climate. Basically money would have been to be taken out of politics, and 98% of our current politicians would have to be thrown out. That would take entirely too long to accomplish and we already face problems that are reaching the point of no return now. I would like to be hopeful, but I can't shake the reality. It doesn't help that people can't see beyond party labels and turn EVERY issue into partisan bickering. Don't let me tell you any different, if you still believe, then ignore my pessimism. It can't hurt at this point.”

RootsWings on Nov 15, 2013 at 19:12:06

“I get your point clearly, Monte Mcmillian. I do not disagree. I am simply saying that "if you don't play the lottery, you can't win!" Right now, we are facing overwhelming forces against moving America forward. These forces want "we the people" to hear their loud and discouraging voices so we can give up. Never before, in our history, have the courageous, intelligent, decent people OUTNUMBERED the charlatans. What has happened historically, that changed the losing formula, was the relationship between those heroic leaders and the masses who supported them and moved us forward. That is our duty now, I think. Optimism is one way to keep hope alive against all odds, until saner minds prevail, NOT because we've seen the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, but because it is the right thing to do, no matter what the result. I say fight on and let's get busy because, after all, the alternative is unthinkable.”

“Anything involving ALEC does not have the American peoples interest at heart. Its all about corporate interest and keeping the stooges in power. We as a society have let corporations dominate our political process, and instead of standing up and saying no more, we let those same people screwing us convince us otherwise. Two reasons I no longer have faith in our elected process...1. Citizens united and 98% of our elected officials being corporate stooges. 2. The American populace being too dumb to understand that...sigh. I'm done. I just live here now.”

RootsWings on Nov 15, 2013 at 18:31:50

“You are right of course. But NOW is not the time to give up. Now is the time to double down and fight against the overthrow of government as we know it. Those corporate stooges, that you speak of, have little political will to do the right thing for the American people. Americans must pressure these wimpy "representatives" to act in our best interest. They don't get to be paid $174,000 plus and not feel the weight of public opinion and peaceful protest. It is our right and duty to do so. Americans in the past have fought harder to obtain far less. American citizens are standing at the door of democracy to protect our government foundations and our very survival in a just society. Please don't give in to these neo-fascist tyrants.”

“Its always interesting seeing the different responses and arguments when race becomes a factor in these stories. I read a story about a man (white) becoming disgruntled and shooting and killing 3 people at a townhall meetings. Many of the comments were actually sympathetic to the shooter while others condemned his actions but also offering "understanding" for why he might have snapped and some even outright defended him and made excuses. Yet I've noticed when the victim his black or the story involves blacks, there's less sympathy and more "blaming the victim". I'm almost certain if this story involved a 19 year pretty white girl, people wouldn't be questioning her actions after the accident nor would they be defending the person that shot her in the face after she sought out help. It boggles my mind. White murderers can elicit more sympathy than black victims of murder. Yet people wonder why race is being brought up as a issue in her death. Ugh.”
