Wall Street Profits Soar To $50B, Bonuses To Rise Up To 40 Percent
Commented Dec 17, 2009 at 16:34:57 in Business
I wish I had a better answer, but for now, I would suggest starting with those things you can control (your own choices; your own personal life; ect.) and doing what you can when you can otherwise to promote the common good.
And I hope that we will all continue to find peaceful ways of resolving conflict.
I'm not sure what the robber barons in Congress and Wallstreet are thinking though, because no matter what they steal or what they do to us, the end reality is that there are over 6 billion of us and they are going to have to share the planet with us as long as they plan on living on this planet. And they have no other alternatives at this point.”

But violence is absolutely never the answer, and would only give an excuse for more violence.
I do not profess to have all the answers, but here is a start:
Vote with your dollars to fight against Wallstreet.
Vote for independent and third party candidates whenever you can. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is better than anyone with a D or R by their name, and the only way to break the parties is to boot them.”

No matter what the issue, Wallstreet and Washington wins, and we lose.
You would think the American might catch on and stop playing this same losing game, but so far it just seems to work every time.
Wallstreet keeps picking our pockets, and Washington creates yet another side show to misdirect anger and set up the next cycle for Wallstreet to again sheer the Sheeple.”

They know it's the truth, so that leaves attacking Dean's credibility.
DEMs need to purge the neo-cons in their own ranks who care only about representing corporations even though they campaign under the DEM banner and representing the people.
There should be a primary challenge for every one of these phoney corporate shills.”

Americans Think Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Prefers Wall Street Over Main Street
Commented Dec 16, 2009 at 15:53:17 in Business
In the run up to the collapse, Benanke was completely full of crop. And since I know he is an intelligent man and knew better, it sure looked like he was shading the truth for Wallstreet, at the expense of Main Street investors who got sheared in the collapse.
He probably is Wallstreet's "Man of the Year."”

Gibbs Lashes Back At Dean, Suggests He's Irrational
Commented Dec 16, 2009 at 15:45:12 in Politics
Dean was right on target, among the few honest voices on the issue.
In contrast, most of the current DEM leadership were out plmping a bad bill, putting their own short term political interests ahead of the longer term health and financial interests of the nation.
The failed, and now they are desperate for a fig leaf of "victory" in passing any bill just so they can declare fake victory and move on.
That is not going to sell this time.”

Commented Dec 16, 2009 at 15:37:19 in Politics
No doubt this is Mr. Gibb's objective assessment, based only on the facts, and not in any way a function of his being assigned to polish up and sell this tvrd of a bill at any cost.
Gibbs is a hired propogandist.
Dean is a citizen speaking his mind.
Gibbs is being paid to score a victory, even if that means we get a bad bill.”

1 : a former liberal espousing political conservatism
2 : a conservative who advocates the assertive promotion of democracy and United States national interest in international affairs including through military means
Sound like anyone you know?
The political left should be pretty disappointed, but the right is getting most everything they want, and they still don't support him.
I'm trying to remain hopeful, but unless the President starts standing up for the people who actually sent him to Washington, and not just caving to and continuing the discredited agendas and policies of the neo-conservatives, it's going to be a long 4 years.”
