“Yes, there is a point here, but China was not attacked on 9-11...it's business as usual for them. Do we just forget bin laden and his gang??? Do we traipse all over the world where ever those thugs pop up???”

“"Do we just forget bin laden and his gang???"

We depend on Intelligence, Communications Interception and Infiltration and protect our people and interests where they ARE (INSIDE the USA), not where they aren't (anywhere else);

Surgical Air Strikes make sense where Terrorist Training Camps are located (with NO occupation of Foreign Sovereign Nations);

Remember that we trained Osama and that the bin Laden Family were long time business partners of the Bush's.

(The decision to invade Iraq was based on OIL -which Saddam Hussein had Nationalized- and was taken during a White House Reunion with OIL Industry Representatives in January of 2001).”

2bad replied on Jan 03, 2010 at 11:27:38

“Bin Laden and his gang were forgotten years ago by W.

How many years does it take to see a strategy is not working? We and fight them for a while, loose American soldiers without accomplishing anything, they regroup in another country and continue training the new recruits they've gained from the hate generated from the killing of more and more of their people.

We're no longer fighting the ones that attacked us on 9/11. We're sending American soldiers to fight the recruits we're creating, not to mention the billions we're spending to do it. It's a black hole that just continues to feed on itself.”

“Well a large segment of the American population are naive or stupid. I suppose when they don't want govt healthcare, they want to eliminate Medicare too since it's a govt program????? I think public option needs to be a choice - just a choice...We all like choices - who wants to eat at the same restaurant every night, who wants the same flavor of ice cream, who wants the same color of paint...choice. AND a side benefit, public option provides competition so we all aren't paying thousands of dollars PER MONTH for health insurance premiums. The repubs feed their constituents the fear factor, that is how they control them...”

Spending Bill Has $4 Billion In Pork

Spending Bill Has $4 Billion In Pork

Commented Dec 12, 2009 at 04:48:20 in Politics

“Why is pork such a bad word...these projects provide jobs, not only creating the project, but oversight and operations - jobs! High speed rails...jobs...not only creating the rails, but operating and managing the rails...jobs”

StJames replied on Dec 12, 2009 at 09:48:16

“Pork is the term used for "pet" projects that could not otherwise receive funding. In other words...no one would dare vote for it as a stand alone bill except the few who proposed it. It is amendments attached to other legitimate spending bills...and are added through behind-the-doors negotiations.

If we got rid of Pork, there would be more money to spend on things that would better serve the "national" interests rather than the limited interests of just one district or state.”
