Tim Pawlenty Goes Off On Obama: "Corrosive"

Commented Oct 26, 2009 at 18:00:40 in Politics

“Tim Pawlenty is a milquetoast syncophant bereft an original idea and should just shut up and sit down before his legislative record in Minnesota comes under closer scruntiny --- the folks in Minnisota were ready to kick Pawlenty's sorry butt to the curb

Pawlenty needs to explain how the republicans under Reagan and both Bushs ran our country to the ground and need we be reminded of the Savings and Loan; Enron/energy debacle; dot.com and banking crisises that the policies of the republicans have caused to our economy

It is also the republicans who wanted to strip government agencies and contract out everything that has caused our federal government to balloon with the likes of Haliburton/KBR and a host of other companies doing the work that just 30 years ago would have been done more cost effectively and more efficiently and with greater oversight than is now done --- small thanks to the republicans push in the 1980's for less government but contracting out everything

Our economy is in a mess because the republicans controlled the government for 21 of the last 29 years”

Sen. Kyl Not Sure People Die From Lack of Health Insurance

Commented Oct 19, 2009 at 14:05:35 in Politics

“are there anymore adults left in the GOP who are not intellectually bankrupt?

The political right of the 21st century is obviously and shamelessly intellectually bankrupt. ... The right has always been intellectually bankrupt: Reagan and Gingrich were always an "emperor's new clothes" phenomenon, and there have always been people calling them on it.

“the more that Kyl runs his mouth the more it becomes clear that the Irepublican leadership is bereft of substance, a vision and the intellect to lead this nation

the republicans are a bunch of cretins, from their idiotic tea baggers, their birthers, death panel Palinistas, to the nit wit neo-cons, and the dim wit talking heads of Limbaugh, Beck and the fearmongering telepromptor readers at FoxNews

small wonder the republicans mock the "intellectual Elites" --- the republicans have nothing constructive to offer and seem like a bunch of 4 year olds stuck in a perpetual temper tantrum”

Frist des not have an unbiased opinion he is only supportive of legislation that will increase the profits of the insurance industry and for the weakening their regulation”

“" Then bam -- the health insurance industry comes out with a study (today) threatening consumers with big premium increases -- a tactic sure to bring fear to the public's collective heart. "

no one should be surprised that the the insurance industry would cook up studies to refute anything that they feel will cut into their monopoly --- this industry is one of the most insidious inhumane in existence --- the Democrats and the Obama administration need to stand up for what is right and pass real health care reform and just ignore the insurance industry's demands

BTW

the reason the insurance industry keeps screaming that they can not compete across state lines is that they want to circumvent State Rights and make an end run aroung state insurance commissions --- depending on the state, these state insurance commissions are about the only thing stopping the insurance industry from totally screwing over Americans”

don't hold your breath and don't sit back and act like the gay and lesbian community didn't have any part in the abomination of DADT -- HRC supported the Clinton/Gore administration in pushing DADT --- don't get selective amnesia now --- don't get all pious now -- not with the same Clinton administration staffers and advisors who worked with HRC on DADT and are currently are working with the Obama-Biden administration, folks who HRC pushed to get jobs with the Obama-Biden administration

BTW

pandering to the gay and lesbian community won't abrogate the instutionalized discrimination that the Clinton/Gore administration codified by the 1996 DADT --- DADT should never have been supported by the HRC --- DADT has helped to lend credence and legitimize the discrimination of DOMA”

Commented Oct 04, 2009 at 17:30:46 in Politics

“THE RIGHT TIME???

what the heck does that mean?

when is there a right time for discrimination??

when is the right time to stop destroying the military careers of brave men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line for America???

when is the right time to call out the DoD, DoJ and the military bureaucrats who have never, not since day one of DADT have adhered to the spirit and letter of that atrocious law

the DoD and military never once acted in good faith on the policy, from the thousands of forms that they use that ask about marital status, to various benefits and preferential treatment of heterosexual troops who are married couples or divorced v. gay troops

DADT just like the DOMA is the equivalent of codified discrimination

how dare the Obama administration and the Clinton cronies who came up with DADT talk about right time to address discrimination --- four-fifths 4/5 of the folks that work for the Obama administration i.e. blacks male and female, white women, asians male and female, latinos male and females, persons with disabilities, those over 60, jewish, muslim, buddist .... probably would not have the jobs they have if good Americans from the abolitionist, the suffergates, religious freedom, civil rights workers and others had stood back and said someday will be the right time, just not today, today is not the right time to fight for freedom and against discrimination”

Not the first time this has happened. In 1981, Charles Rocket dropped the F bomb during a show. Most of the cast was fired. Rocket's post-SNL career highlights included such cinematic masterpieces as "Its Pat" and "Earth Girls Are Easy." He committed suicide in 2005. Lorne Michaels locked that SNL episode in the vault and has never allowed it to be re-aired.
