“I have a kid that was involved in my weddings. He caused the first one and picked out the sight (age 4) along Yellowstone Lake for the permanent one. He wanted the buffalo's to be part of the ceremony and they were.”
“I release a helium balloon every time I launch my hot air balloon. It provides a great deal of information for pilots about to fly. It's called a PIBAL, for pilot information balloon. Fortunately, they now sell biodegradable balloons that we can use. The second helium balloon that is tied to my chase vehicle so I can use it to reference ground winds when approaching a landing, is always tied to some child's wrist after we land so they can enjoy it.”
“My wife hit a deer on the interstate in Wyoming. We called the state troopers and were told we would have to wait for a trooper to take a report. After 2 1/2 hours he showed up apologizing. He saw an elderly lady with Alaska plates on the side of the highway and stopped to check on her. This lady in her late 80's had pulled over for a little rest for the first time since leaving Alaska on the way to Louisiana. He then took her to a restaurant and paid for her dinner.
Thanks for reminding me of this...”

“Having driven from Alaska to the lower 48, there is no way she could have traveled that far and that long without rest. She stopped several times, I guarantee it, just not at a motel ("sleeping" in the driver's seat for a few hours is not comfortable but it's free). Still, it was a nice gesture on the part of the police officer.”

“From the border of Alaska and Yukon Territory to the Wyoming state line is a minimum 48 hours nonstop. If she came from Fairbanks, that's another 11 hours. I smell a fish story here...”
