“While I agree with you re: the boogeyman, santa & jehovah, you ignorance on karma is pretty impressive. Karma is simply a naturalistic description of psychological fact, it is not some mystical force of the universe that smites bad people--that's the hollywood/reader's digest/strawman version.
The idea of karma is simply this: if you go around treating people badly, they will feel angry & sad & frustrated & treat others badly. If you treat others well, they will be happy & relaxed and more likely to treat others with friendliness and respect.
Sounds sorta like the golden rule, hunh?
Funny how that works.”

“So, let me get this straight:
You used to treat your employees well because of your noblesse oblige, but now, citing as your reason "there is not one damn thing you or anyone can do about this" you're gonna fire 300 liberals because they are liberal?
You're too good to be true. If I didn't know just how short sighted & petty republicans can be, I'd think you might just be making all this up--I can think of several motivations, all of them at least dishonest--but let's assume you're being truthful.
Just keep talkin' sport. You're doing more good for the left than I could do in a thousand years.”

Here, the debate has been distorted by Big Ag (Monsanto & their ilk) as almost everything is distorted by big business. So...massive subsidies for corn based ethanol for US farmers in new ag bill, rising corn prices (as there isn't enough corn to go around between food & fuel--per the plan), massive profits for all the big factory farmers--US & Mexican consumers get screwed as usual--and you're right, corn based ethanol is an energy loser in the grand scheme of things.
Not the environmentalists. Corporate welfare. Corporate criminals, as usual.

Yes, Brazil is famous for it's rational public policies.
Ethanol works there for two reasons; It is in the tropics, so there is much more sunlight that can be converted into plant energy. Sugar can only be grown in a couple of US states.
Wages in Brazil are also notoriously low, and the sugar cane workers who provide the fuel stock earn only a buck and a quarter per hour.
Here in the US, where the wages are a little more substantial, petroleum does the labor, making Ethanol production a zero sum game. (It takes as much carbon energy to produce ethanol, as the ethanol contains).”

“Here's the deal on health care for illegals:
They aren't leaving--big business wouldn't like it.
They're already getting health care--at emergency room prices.
Giving them Universal Health Care (which neither dem is promising), would still be cheaper.
Please let me know which piece of my logic is wrong.”
