“Way back in the day in China, doctors were responsible for keeping people healthy in the first place and were considered to not be doing their job when people got sick.

Of course prevention is the best way to go. However, there isn't as much money in that for the giant corporations that run the country. The reality is that there is a reason why so much focus is placed on treating symptoms, because there is a ton of $$$ to be made. If people are healthy, the corporations lose money and their shareholders get upset. There is simply too much money to be made to allow citizens to experience health, so don't expect the government to do much else besides kowtow to the corporations yet again.

Prevention is up to each of us. It is our bodies and our health, so it is vital to stop placing our lives in the hands of those who really don't have our best interests at heart. Don't wait for the government to step up to the plate, as there is a rich tradition in the past 25 years or so for the US government to make it look like they're doing something for us, when the reality is that what's truly best for the average citizen is so far down on their list it's tough to know whether to laugh or cry.”

Basically, we've got a bunch of CINO's around who use Jesus and religion when it fits their wants/needs and will tell their fellow man to piss off in an instant. The ol' - I've got mine, I'm not helping my fellow man unless they have the exact same beliefs as me, so get a job!!

And we wonder why things are the way they are. When we're trained to focus upon making sure we get ours and who cares if anyone else gets any, we get what we currently have.

“We are told to go for the American Dream, and many have tried for the carrot at the end of the stick. Yet, one side of the equation has not done their part and has created a financial mess that affects the world. They have been labeled too big to fail and we've had our taxes go to prop up banks and financial organizations. Why on earth would any of the banks change their M.O. when there were no penalties and the government basically said - we won't let you fail no matter what. There is no impetus to change, and they are now using our bailout money to continue to play with homeowners lives.

The USA has gone from a great country to the greatest Ponzi scheme going in less than 10 years. We're supposed to keep flowing money into the system through taxes and paying off debts that were deemed nearly patriotic to have. What are we the people getting in return? The rich get richer, the same people who helped create this mess are still running the financial show, and the middle class is squeezed between a rock, a rock, another rock and a hard place. And we've been whipped into shape enough that we have little outrage, and complacently go down the road towards indentured servitude. That's what happens when money is more valued than people.”

I find it ironic that after a few hundred years of blacks being killed and discriminated by others for the color of their skin that you are making sure the same stuff is continuing for those of a different sexual orientation. Are any of the suits you wear designed by a gay designer?
Are any other clothing items of yours designed by someone gay?

Do you make sure that your purchases are not at a gay owned business?
Do you refuse any political donation if it comes from a gay person?

It's all there except for having to call them master. From the way things are going, this won't be far behind. If my memory serves correct, a few hundred years ago some great people stood up to taxation without representation. We have the illusion of our votes counting and making a difference. The only difference is whether they screw us over in a more secretive way or just come right out and do it in our faces like right now. Our "leaders" only serve themselves and their masters - we the commoners are shut out and left with the scraps. Now they're telling us we don't even deserve the scraps. Jefferson warned us of this very thing and left instructions, yet we've become too meek to stand up for ourselves.”

“In his defense, since the same guys who helped to create this mess (bernanke and geithner) are running the economic and financial arenas something tragically funny has happened. I acquired a copy of Cantor's plan on the stimulus, and here are both parts - verbatim.
