“If he is not running again that makes what he's doing all the more horrible. He's hurting himself at the same time which makes what he's doing not make any sense at all. All the campaign money means nothing if you turn off the voters time and time again and he's done that. So why is he really doing this is what I'd like to know because I see no actual benefit from this. Unless he thinks people in his state are extremely stupid that they'll forget and vote for him anyway no matter what he does. And if so, how long would it take you before you got sick of doing it and decided that enough was enough?”

“Dan Choi a man of HONOR and GREAT COURAGE! You bet he understood the consequences but he decided his integrity was worth more than his job. Wow! What a hero! Yet, he should not have to choose between his integrity or a military career that requires such integrity...a strange situation.

Even though Mr. Choi took the risk on his own accord, this does not take the responsibility of the continued existence of DADT (which creates these consequences) not Obama's doing. Obama has allowed the policy to remain in place. This is a remarkable situation which provides the opportunity to observe the core decency of our President in action. If he does nothing that speaks volumes. My personal belief is that Obama will act and not allow Mr. Choi to lose is Military career. I believe in President Obama's core decency....but only time will tell.”

Obama has the opportunity to put his rhetoric where his mouth is with the stroke of a pen. He just has to say it's a matter of national security. If Bush can invade a sovereign country that posed no threat to us, conduct a trillion dollar illegal war that has killed over 500,000 and maimed even more, has wire-taped, tortured and murdered in the name of national security, then why can't Obama do this small step?

While he's at it, we are in a situation that threatens our national security more than any terrorist so he should nationalize all banks and business, keep the Republicans under house arrest and get on with it.”

It was because of the insanity (sorry to repeat using this word but absolutely perfect) of this law that even with a dangerous shortage, Arabic interpreters were let go before 9/11 because they were gay and critical info was translated AFTER the fact!
