Lieberman Lies About the Public Option

“If he is not running again that makes what he's doing all the more horrible. He's hurting himself at the same time which makes what he's doing not make any sense at all. All the campaign money means nothing if you turn off the voters time and time again and he's done that. So why is he really doing this is what I'd like to know because I see no actual benefit from this. Unless he thinks people in his state are extremely stupid that they'll forget and vote for him anyway no matter what he does. Don't think that's the case and if it isn't he's the one that has become extremely stupid in his old age
Or he's just doing this to spit in President Obama's face for hell of it and that's what he wants.”

Lieberman Lies About the Public Option

“Lieberman doesn't give a damn about the national debt. He's a neocon when it comes to war and has been for a very long time. Guess what wars cost money and you receive not tangible return on that money either. It simply goes out the door. All Republicans are like this. This is why any time they say they are concerned about the national debt they are lying at the top of their lungs. They are for spending money when there is no return but always against spending money where you would actually see a direct benefit and would lead to or would have a return of the money and more. That is called investing which they have always been against.
What he is doing is representing the insurance companies pure and simply. He's pretty much said as much. He'd rather line his pockets and say to hell with everyone else.Which makes no sense from a logical stand point. By doing this he's showing those in his state what and who are important to him and it isn't the people that voted for him. Come next election he won't win if he runs again and he'll lose any power he had to influence anything. What Dem is going to listen to him if he turns into a lobbyist after the screw job he pulled here? Why would Republicans bother with him when they have so many others talking to them?”

He's a decent and honest man and Obama needs that voice in his administration. Plus he understands how things in Washington work. This 24 hour constant critique of the Obama administration needs to stop. Give it a rest why don't ya. I usually agree with most of what Adriana says but she's wrong on this one. Now I don't think she should resign from Huffington Post because of it.”

“It just shows there are a LOT of stupid people in this country. This was known already so it isn't a big surprise. There are a LOT of people in the US that look for people to confirm their hateful thoughts and Beck makes them feel it's okay for them to think and feel the way they do. Sooner or later they will feel comfortable to act on those feelings. They already do with these tea party events. It's just a group of racist whites feeding off of each other. Sooner or later people will starting doing their on their own and that's when things will hit a point of no return.
What they don't understand though is once that happens the US government, police, and the FBI won't allow that to stand and they (these people that watch and listen to Beck) will be the ones getting turn as they will be the ones breaking the law to say the least.”

“It makes no sense at all to deny people the right to vote after they've served their time. Yes they were convicted and went to jail. However they went through the legal process and were released and allow to live their lives. Many are productive citizens and even if they weren't they shouldn't continue to be punished. Once out of the system they are free to do what they want and that should vote. There is no logical, sound reason to deny them to vote once they are out of jail. None.”

“Once again they are blaming the wrong person here and calling on the wrong person to change this. Congress has to make the change. You don't want a President simply make signing statements, etc. That's part of what was wrong with Bush. Obama isn't going to be doing the same thing, nor should he.
I'm sorry but I can't put out to much empathy on this front even though the whole issue is bad. The military has it's own laws. We all know that and you know that going into it. You agree to it when you join and now one wants to get all upset when those laws come down on you? The time to take on the issue was before you joined. It was no secret what the military's stance was. It's not like it was sprung on people out of nowhere. So the military tries to match license plates of cars that are in the parking lot of gay bars. If you know there are an issue with gays in the military why are you stupid enough to go to the nearest gay bar anyway? Use common sense. You go three or four towns over. You don't make it easy for your orientation to be used against you. You don't wait until you personally are affected to raise the issue (which seems to be the case here with the two recent officers asking, begging in a way not to be fired).”

That said, I'm not so sure about your other comments. Your scenario of not joining since they "knew" the laws is kind of a non-point point. The problem here is the LAW. It is unjust and very discriminatory, and stupid. It shouldn't matter if you are in the military, you shouldn't have to sneak three or four towns over to be yourself. Would YOU? And if so, how long would it take you before you got sick of doing it and decided that enough was enough?”

Even though Mr. Choi took the risk on his own accord, this does not take the responsibility of the continued existence of DADT (which creates these consequences) not Obama's doing. Obama has allowed the policy to remain in place. This is a remarkable situation which provides the opportunity to observe the core decency of our President in action. If he does nothing that speaks volumes. My personal belief is that Obama will act and not allow Mr. Choi to lose is Military career. How much of the terrorist attacks could be avoided if we were able to translate the thousands of documents and phone conversations that have been collected for the past ten years or more? We need these translators more than ever. Make them civilian and put them back in the military.
Perhaps we should go back and have the blacks segregated in the armed forces as Dwight D. Eisenhower wanted? Let's bring back slavery? Take the vote away from women. What else?
Obama has the opportunity to put his rhetoric where his mouth is with the stroke of a pen. He just has to say it's a matter of national security. If Bush can invade a sovereign country that posed no threat to us, conduct a trillion dollar illegal war that has killed over 500,000 and maimed even more, has wire-taped, tortured and murdered in the name of national security, then why can't Obama do this small step?
While he's at it, we are in a situation that threatens our national security more than any terrorist so he should nationalize all banks and business, keep the Republicans under house arrest and get on with it.”

Leave this type of thing for his 2nd term.
If you want to get this legalize you have to come at this with a serious effort with a large amount of science and statics backing you up. You have to show details for why it should be legal and be able to argue against the many reasons for why it should stay illegal. He doesn't have to do anything now. It's not that important at the moment.”
