“No one said politics is easy. I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "the world view of American politics...". What does that mean? Can you cite some articles which support that claim? Besides, if you think the rest of the world has cut-and-dried politics, it's quite clear you have neither researched nor visited other countries beyond the American borders.”
“I've listened to MANY people quote the bible - mostly people in prison and others who are waiting to go to prison.
By the way... I doubt Jesus cares how many quotes you can memorize - I'm guessing he'd rather see people practice NOT recite.”

“Exactly the point. Hypocrisy is the problem, not revealing one's teachings. People "use" religion, rather than practice a way of life. Sorry that my "copy and paste" is annoying.”
“In a democracy, politics is everything. That's why.”

“I can't help but think this is why the rest of the world views American politics as a farce. We are so wound up in hating the "other side" that we can't even maintain a conversation without dragging politics into it. We spend so much time whining and complaining about the others instead of getting things done and living life it's rather pathetic at this point. Tell me why you think the other side should be willing to listen when the first thing that happens, without even being provoked, they get slammed with insults? This is precisely the sort of thing that makes it difficult to mend bridges and work towards a better country.”
“Actually I did - and plenty of animal loves suffered as well. By your logic, why would anyone bring up the fact that vets are injured in battle - and feel connected to people they don't know?
If you don't study your history, you are bound to repeat the same mistakes - try thinking a little deeper before you reply.”
“Revenues? Vick has added ZERO to a team's performance since he was allowed to come back. Has he even completed a full season since his prison sentence?
You aren't even in the ball-park.”

“Really, you do not follow football much...
I think you just hate Vick for his dog fighting... which I understand.
But his football skills actually brought some notoriety and publicity to a failing Eagles franchise at the time. Which equals to revenues.... and you noticed I did not say profit right? That's because all of them are not-for-profit organizations according to the IRS.
Not a Vick fan myself, but the guy can do some great things.”
“I'm not a fan of someone being recorded in the privacy of their own home then that same recording being used to "bust" the guy. I do not agree with his opinion.
How can a guy like Michael Vick get busted for running a dog fighting ring and also busted for destroying dogs in cruel ways - goes to prison for 2 years - then gets invited back to the NFL to sign on the dotted line for millions?
If Mike Vick can still play in the "big leagues" then this guy can stay in as an owner. Mike Vick committed heinous acts against animals - a crime warranted as a life-time ban in my opinion - but he is still playing - pathetic.
What makes me sick is if an "opinion" can get someone banned for life - most certainly a two year prison sentence should ban anyone from playing sports.
Again - I do not agree with this guys opinion.”

“"I don't agree with the racist, but let me defend him by telling you what an unrelated Black guy did in an unrelated league to justify why the racist shouldn't have to suffer any negative consequences. Again - I do not agree with the racist, but let me deflect from his racism by talking about what a Black guy did."
See how that sounds?”

“its apples and oranges. The vick situation wasnt going to cost the NFL the advertisers , ticket sales, and possibly cause a player strike. Truth told its people>dogs.”

“Well, like I always hear from some people. The Vick thing was a long time ago, why bring that up? You didn't suffer from it did you?”
RougeCop on May 23, 2014 at 13:48:34
“His "opinion" represents a level of prejudice that slave masters shared in the slave south. You can't espouse those views in a league that is 80+% black. You saw everyone universally condemned his statements-except him.
Michael Vick had a $100mil contract voided and spent 2 yrs in prison for essentially killing 8 dogs. I don't condone killing dogs but Vick more than paid his debt”

“Put the Sterlings in Prison for 2 years and I would then agree with you”

“There are degrees on how all infractions are dealt with in in civil or criminal complaints, racism is not illegal however it is much more dangerous on our society. It has to be addressed with a ZERO tolerance approach. The NFL did not suggest that the Colts owner (Jim Irsay) be banned for life or that he should sell his franchise after he got arrested on DUI and for having $29,000 in cash and multiple bottles of prescription drugs in his car. He went to rehab, he will have his case adjudicated and go back to running his business. You can't try and equate what Vick or Irsay did with what Sterling has done.”

“this is not 'a guy calling in the privacy of his home". He had his phone conversations taped for future reference. he called an employee. He told her who she could and could not associate with in her private life, and told this mixed race person that her race should not be associated with, as a reflection on Sterling. The phones were Clipper's property, and the recordings were turned over to another Clipper's employee. This was all business communication, and there are exemptions in California law for business communication.”
“The market has dictated people want airbags.
I'm guessing the same will be for the kill switch on smartphones.
I for one, would be happy to buy a smartphone with a kill switch.
And I'm guessing many other customers will want that same option.
Before you know it, the kill switch will be on all smartphones.”
