“If the Catholic Church focused all its energies on giving up all their vast possessions to give to the poor, they would be fulfilling the gospel. Rather than do this, however, they use their free will to choose to deny those who have not chosen to be Catholics their freewill, by working hard to deny them the right to choose who to marry and the right to choose how they procreate.
They've utterly fulfilled the call of the self righteous Pharisees, and, while proudly displaying the device that executed the Son of God, they've exhibited their vulgar, oppulent and violent history as the repudiation of their authority to speak for the Son of Man.”

“The comparison to the Pharisees is appropriate. Through its rituals and material possessions, the universal church promotes some of the worst perversions of faith that Jesus Christ detested. They are not alone, however. Mormons and Protestants possess the same traits.”

“You want to reform the Republican party to make it more conservative. What the Republican party wants to conserve is:
racial privilege for the historically dominant race,
denial of rights to those deemed unworthy of equal rights by the hypocrites who consider themselves to be the only righteous members of society
forced intrusion of the government into the womb of a woman in order to defend part of her body from her, when she is the citizen, and the part of her body has no citizenship,
the mandatory acceptance of the identification of one supreme deity defined by the government.
and they don't believe in science, but believe all things on heaven and earth are trumped by what they believe.
If you want to reform something, first reform the conservative movement of the Republican Party.”

“Really, why should we as American seek to know the truth, when we can continue to make up things out of thin air?
The truth is so damaging, and a lie can be such a soothing comfort to our oblivious acceptance of our perfect world.
There was no slavery in America, only a consensual work arrangement between consenting races.
There was no theft of land from the indigenous people on our continent, only a real estate deal by savvy investors.
There were no mistakes made by President George Bush, only perfect decisions made by a confident man under the direction of an all powerful deity.
We are not deluded into fantasy by religious speculation, we are only those who, alone, know the truth of all things just by being told by fair and balanced journalists what we are to think.”

Fox News Is the Story

“The media is biased toward the media. They defend FOX because they are biased toward themselves to the point that they never question their own integrity, while they continually question the integrity of anyone and everyone who questions theirs. They are owned and operated by those who have the most powerful agenda in our nation. Their voice is the voice of commercial profits no matter the personal cost to anyone who is not making the commercial profits. Any sense of balance is a fluke of integrity among performers, aka journalists, who are not hired based on their integrity.
The simple reason more people are going to the internet to gain their viewpoints is because the voices here are more often than not unpaid. The freedom of the press often depends on communication of news and facts being actually given and not sold.
The media corporation is like a for profit hen house, cranking out news through artificial manipulation of the news cycle. FOX news has raided the hen house and eaten the hens and now just blatantly manufactures its viewpoint as news. This has had a confounding effect on the media's DNA, since now they are all chicken.”

“The photos make me think of the Empire of the White Man's Burden. It brings to mind the time that sophisticated white intellectuals amassed fortunes marketing in the human trafficking of black people, shipping them all over the world. This caused me to reflect on the economic responsibility that white capitalism has had on the oppression of Africa and to relate it to the substitution, in the case of these photographs, of white models "making elegant" savages through their superior fashion consciousness.
In all, these photographs communicate the sophisticated racism of the rich, who have always de-valued the "primitive" elegance and power of the indigenous people of the African continent.”

"Death Panel" Scare Tactic May Backfire on Republicans
Commented Aug 17, 2009 at 12:23:40 in Politics
“The vitriol is irrational. It's irrational to believe for profit will cause anything to be cheaper. Other capitalistic industrialized nations have proven that they can increase the efficiency of something if it is free from the profit motive. It's irrational to insist that my living or dying will be decided by how much I earn, yet that is the situation, now. If that is rational, then I think you want me dead, and it's premeditated.
The irrational fear of those and the irrational power of others is not a healthy mix. I would rather have a strong government which takes care of the things needed by all, than a corporate lottery in which those with the income get the outcome.
I'm the one who should be angry, but without health care, I have to watch my blood pressure.
The death mob wants Americans to die. That is a fact, but it is irrational madness. If it is their motive, then it is a premeditated crime.”

“254 elderly and disabled Alaskans died during Palin's 2 1/2 year aborted term as the top bureaucrat overseeing Alaska's Medicaid system. They died because of understaffing and underfunding in a state that had such a huge budget surplus that Palin gave out $700 billion in checks to the citizens. She then instituted a hiring freeze in the interests of "fiscal conservatism" which only exacerbated the understaffing problem. 8 lawsuits have been filed against the state. More are expected now that the report is public. Alaska is the only state in the union to be under a moratorium by Medicaid/Medicare while this scandal is investigated.
Now ..... this death panel demagogue has moved on from the dead littering her state and has set her eyes on the national scene.”

The Myth of How the Media Destroyed Palin

“The media didn't attack Sarah, they just noted that she is who she is as revealed by her performance before the media. On American Idol, the bad singers get a lot of attention if they are really bad, but this attention isn't an attack. It's just noting the obvious, and the audience finds their contrast with the actual talent fascinating. All the attention given to Sarah was the GOP plan from the beginning. However, they expected her to do as George Bush did, and become popular before it became obvious that the talent necessary to win was lacking.
She wore all the right clothes, was sparkling winks and witless wit, and had all the sex appeal with which Americans were familiar and comfortable when it comes to celebrity. Like Britney spears, she can get attention whether it's for good or not.
When a contestant walks off the stage because it becomes obvious she can't sing, it is not the fault of Simon Cowell. It's just what happens when the attention makes the lack of talent apparent.
Sarah can form fit her career to her talents now, and Anita Bryant can be her role model. But at least Anita could sing.”

If you don't have to live together or share intimacy, then it's only easier to love, so those who end up consumed with bitterness are working too hard just to break a vow that needs never be broken. It's a race to the population finish line, and African Americans and Hispanics are too fertile. White girls need to be encouraged to produce offspring in or out of wedlock. American Idol Rewarding Mediocrity (Kris Allen Is Lame)

“Why does a Christian singer want to be an idol. I mean, the Book is thrown in everybody's face about the way we're suppose to live, but isn't idolatry....idolatry? You see, idol worship is a favorite for Christians and heathens alike. Christians have turned Jesus into an idol, using the best ad agencies in town, Michelangelo and Di Vince, so it's okay for them to pick up their star studded crosses and bask in the fame of their own mediocrity. Adam Lambert epitomizes what an idol is, and that's not necessarily a compliment to him as a person. He'll succeed because he's able to be idolized. Kris Allen is nice to listen to, and people will listen. But, as Taylor Hicks seems to prove, becoming an idol doesn't mean much if you're beige and not golden.”

Homo Sex in Colonial America

“Many of the straight men reading this right now have had sex with other males. No, you're not a homosexual, but you are a man and you are or were sexual, and the opportunity arose. The rules made by people, were designed to direct civilization toward pro-creation. And of course it's absurd to imagine that every time sex was had it was had only to fertilize. The sexual organs have been around a long time, and their use has been experimented with even if they excluded the details from history. People didn't have digital cameras and computers at the time. Some people act like "sodomy" was invented in 1966 during the sexual revolution, and before then it was just a horrible thought they had to think about when they read the Bible. It was in the 60's, though, that people got tired of being told how to live like hypocrites.
Men love men, women love women, and as we all know, ad nauseum, men love women. If you straight people think gay sex is pushed down your throat because of a parade, try being a homosexual fed on a mass produced diet of straight your whole life. Bottom line is gays don't want to have sex in your living room, they want to have sex in THEIR marriage bed. What the hell are you doing snooping around their bedroom like some peeping-tom? Mind your own business, and once a year you can watch the parade...or not.”

I couldn't agree more, NewArtz. What you and others don't seem to realize is that many who do not support gay marriage really do get it. We know that human sexuality occurs across a spectrum and that under the right set of circumstances people will change their sexual habits.
It's an open secret that sexual encounters between men occur much more frequently than is admitted to or reported. In some black & Hispanic communities the leading cause of HIV and AIDS among women is viral transmission that occurred during man on man sodomy in prison or other circumstances.
Most who passed along the HIV virus did not self-identify as homosexuals or bisexuals. Nor should they. On the other hand, many of the staunchest proponents of gay marriage are individuals who were involved in heterosexual marriages before divorcing and choosing to live as homosexuals. Wanda Sykes comes to mind.
Those same people want the rest of us to believe that homosexuality is genetically or biologically based even though there isn't a single strand of scientific evidence to support that argument.”
