“But McCain, it is not that the $2.4million that have been set-aside to support surgical operation will be put in a bag and sent to space.

It will be people here in the USA who will be paid those money to do the research and build the necessary mechinery & devices that will make that possible, and it will lead to job creation and direct stimulate the economy.

Think of the alternative, the cost of aborting a space mission prematurely because someone need urgent surgery is much more costly, because that mission will have to be repeated at a later date at a cost greater than $2.4 millions.

Though another argument for the people who are against this, is how likely is it for someone to need urgent medical surgery in space? I do not think it is happen, but the possibility of been strike/hit with a fast moving object in space is very real.”

“So how will carrying a gun, even the with permit going to safe you from the government?

I did not understand your logic, you mean owning a gun will prevent the government from hunting yu down if you break the law, or what is your reasoning?

I think that owning a gun escalates confrontations with the government or law enforcement agents of the government e.g. Police, FBI, ATF, etc...

Or are you thinking that the government will use her heavy military might to attack her citizens and when the citizen own a gun or own many guns, they will effectively repelle the government's attacks?

There have been many ATF, Police & FBI confrontation with citizen who have multiple guns under their control and they were willing to use them against the government forces, as I recount each of those incidents, none of them ended well for the gun-carrying & gun-shooting citizen. You can see why I am confuse how this is going to help anyone be "safe from their government".

Please explain.”

“This is too controlled and it does not micmic real life crashes or represent the worst-case scenario. One will think if you want your data or result to save more human begins, you should go for the worst case scenario.

Most real life crashes loses balance before hitting the ground, they do not hit the ground at 180 degrees. If you want to simulate a near-real-scenario, at least allow the craft to hit the group at 90 degrees with the nose going first and not the belly; due to the large surface area of the belly, it is more adapted to absorbe more blows thus diverting it from the passengers.”

NoMoFearNoMoHate replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 08:29:13

“It's an early test with plenty of data to be gathered. The only reason there is any press on it is 1.) It was a cheap, easy story the journalist - and I use that term loosely - thought would be entertaining or 2.) They're simply attempting to attract investors. Probably a horrible unholy union of the two factors which is entirely too common.

A nose hit would provide crumple space lengthening the impact and reduces the acceleration on the occupants - a good thing, just not for early testing. There's little give to the belly of the craft and therefore an ideal test surface for the device where control of the experiment is key - surface area has almost nothing to do with it, at least not concerning the external surface area of the craft in relation to the acceleration experienced by the passengers.

There will be other tests.

Hope this clears some of it up for you! It seems as though you have some interest in this type of thing so I highly recommend the study of physics - I think you would find it very enjoyable.”

Contradictory Republicans Still Flummoxed By Medicare

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 06:12:04 in Politics

“I think you got your "facts" wrong.

The GOP weren't and are never in favor of medicare period! They are just using the proposed medicare cuts as a political tools to achieve their goal which is killing the reform bill.

The GOP are against anything Government-run, be it medicare, social security, etc and they hated the single payer because it will be government run despite the fact that it has been shown to be the most fiscally thing to do. They really want to reduce deficit, they should embrace the single payer.

I am all for a small government, but I also know that we have referees or lines men in a soccer or futball game for a reason. They set the ground rules, even the playing field for everyone and provides basic necessary environment & condition for everyone. If you leave everything to market-forces, there will be only two classes....the very very poor and the very very rich.

The health of the citizens is very important, it is only a healthy country that can compete; a country where basic health care services are the exclusive rights of a few is not a balance society and it is very necessary that government step-in and remove health as road-blocks to individual progress just like God have even the intake of oxygen.”

But what people keep saying is that drugs have the opposite effect of alcohol; when you are drunk, you feel invincible, he feel as if you are on top of the world and you can take on anyone.....Yes you also feel you are the best driver there, that "empowers" to take the keys and want to drive.

When with drugs, I heard that the effect mellow you down and you feel like you want to relax, sleep; driving is the last thing that come to mind; even if you drive, you do not feel invincible or as if you are the best driver....

Both alters one's reality, but it looks like being drunk had more potentials in as a leading indication to other crimes than being on drug.

The only difference is that, since drugs are illegal, the processing of obtaining it leads to a lot of crimes (i.e. buying/selling) but for alcohol & spirit you can walk into any supermarket and get as much as you care to get.”

“I am very surprise at people who are still in the campaign mode; common, we have to be realistic here....there is difference btw campaigning and the actual hold office....something that all Presidents should blindly fulfill all their campaign promises.

Sincerely speaking, lot of these people make these promises with pure motives and honestly; but when they come into office, reality kicks-in; now they start receiving daily intelligence & security briefings they knew nothing about when they were making those campaign promises?

No one governors the way they campaign. I will give the President some credit here, I know he did not come to this decision lightly. When you really come to think about it; who was the alternative to Obama? McCain...had McCain won, it would been a different story altogether...it is possible we might have been at war with Iran by now and the North Korean issue would have escalated further....so you still made a better choice by voting for him.

Yes, you might not have gotten all you wished or hoped to get from him, but who on earth gets all they wish or hope to get?

Voting for someone because you believe or hope that they will keep all his campaign promises is naive void of reality and it is delusional thinking. I vote by comparing the people presented to me and choose the lesser of both evil; if make that your voting attitude you will never be disappointed.”

The purpose of sending one partner to jail or away from the house for the night is for the safety of both.”

The tree was block one view of the vehicle and it makes perfect sense to bust a rear window. You do not want to bust the front window because the occupant can get injured by flying glasses.

I believe you also know that even in minor accidents, if the car is deformed as can be seen in the picture, opening the doors without specialized equipment help is futile, so busting a window is the only best alternative.”

“This article made it seem that dying by asphyxiation is like a walk in the park.

Agreed, there are lot of people who for one reason or another want to commit suicide, but underneath all that, every human being have the survival instinct that kicks in involuntary when we are at risk. This instinct induce overwhelming amount of hormone in our that enable us to things that will save us.

If this man's knees were bent and by standing up, he would have eased his pains, I think his survival instinct would have override his intentions and he would have struggled to stand up.

The report also indicated that there was no struggle; it is quite strange that a human being will die in that fashion without putting up a some of struggle, the fact that that person inflicted that pain on him/herself not withstanding.

I will give the investigators the benefit of a doubt, I was just thinking aloud above; but they should seriously see if there was a co-conspirator; was he dead before he was hanged?

Depriving oneself of oxygen while you slowly die is an excruciating pain & experience and knowing that one have the ability to stop that pain, but did nothing about it, is very very strange.”
