“Lets see. Reagan funded, armed and trained the Muhajideen in Afghanistan which gave rise to Osama Bin-Laden. He also did not do a thing to go after the murderers who killed the 241 Marines in Beirut. He was against Medicare, he consulted an astrologist for many of his decisions. Disputed Darwinism, declared smog in California was cleared up, etc etc etc.”

“Very true. I believe that what makes a country great is how it takes care of all of it's people. In the US this concept has not caught on yet, mainly because of lack of basic understanding of socio-political issues. We're shackled by corporations who have enormous influence in maintaining the status quo when it comes to many issues especially health care. The bible they behold as sacred is not the "good book" but the US Dollar...After all, look at the $ bill and see the words "In God we trust" and "Annuit Coeptis". This form of idolatry creates greed, selfishness and allows a climate of hatred and violence towards the people and institutions who try to go against them. The US is a relatively young country and has a lot to learn.”

P.S. There are large private insurance companies in Australia who have not gone bankrupt with the public healthcare in competition. Insurance companies know how to make money - it's what they do, and they will continue to do so, with or without public healthcare to compete with.”
