The vast majority of Afghan patriots (male and female, fundamentalist and secular) have a position similar to what most American patriots wouid have if a brutal, corrupt, drug-pusherocracy were imposed on us by a powerful foreign government -- they oppose the drug-pusherocracy and the foregners who created it and are fighting to get rid of it, even though they are geometrically weaker militarily and economically than we are and pose no threat to our security.

Just prior to invading Iraq, the anti-war movement all over the world conducted massive demonstrations internationally. Despite the fact the overwhelming intellgence at the tme of the invasion of Iraq proved that Saddam had no WMDs (Blix was searching based on CIA reports and finding nothing and it was public knowledge), the invasion took place anyway.

Obama's domino theory is even more dishonest and untrue than the WMDs or the Japan-will-go-red if South Vietnam falls of Vietnam days.. He says if US troops don't protect the Afghan drug-pusherocracy we put there and the Taliban win, al Qaeda will get Pakistan's nukes. That's laughable and wholly untrue. Based on that he's made US troops and contractors the cutting edge defending drug pushers, opposing the desire of the Afghan people to rid themselves of the corrupt, brutal drug-pusherocracy.”

At one point a small continent of militants -- no threat at all to the government -- got within 50 miles of the capital. The Pakistani military then drove them back and continued a successful offensive against them.

First, the "war of necessity" lie is as big a lie to justify escalation in Afghanistan as WMDs was when Bush was selling invading Iraq. As we all know, no Afghans attacked us at 9/11 and the Taliban offered to hand over bin Laden to a neutral third country. The second lie Obama is telling is that somehow when the Taliban drives out the corrupt drug pusherocracy we have left there after 8 years of depression-sustaining expenditures, al Qaeda will get Pakistan's nukes. That's a more BS domino theory than the Vietnam one (all Asia will fall one-by-one like "dominos" to communism if South Vietnam fell, including Japan turning red.) That was always BS and untrue, but Obama's "al Qaeda will get Pakistan's nukes if the Taliban wins is even dumber and more dishonest.

The only sane policy is immediate, safe withdrawal of all US troops and contractors from Iraq and Afganistan.”

“The European Union has a population roughly 100,000,000 greater than the US and a larger economy. It supplies less than half the troops in Afghanistan though it claims to be as committed as we are. The US already has nearly 136,000 military in Afghanistan (68,000 troops and 68,000 wholly US taxpayer paid private, mercenary contractors) and is about to add another 60,000 military (30,000 troops and 30,000 contractors). This is to be paid for, so far, by astronomical increases in the US deficit -- depression­-sustainin­g resources. When we ask the Europeans for 10,000 more troops (and no contractor forces compared to our added 60,000) they wisely refuse.

Obama has little care for the facts of this. He ignores the stealing of the Afghan election by the drug pusherocracy we support. He ignores the failure of our so-called allies to seriously commit troops and resources on an equal basis to us. He ignores that the Taliban would not allow Afghanistan to be used by AQ to launch attacks against the US and Europe because it has already experienced shock and awe and doesn't want it again. Obama makes up new domino theories -- AQ will get Pakistan's nukes if the Taliban win in Afghanistan. And he ignores that a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan is geometrically weaker than we are economically and militarily -- no threat to us whatsoever.
