Jay Rockefeller Tears Into Howard Dean: 'Nonsense ... Irresponsible' (VIDEO)

“What a shock to find that a Rockefeller, after performing some dishonest theatrics feigning support of a public option, ends up supporting a bill that enriches the drug pushers of Big Pharma and the health insurers, providing them with subsidies and the right to raise premiums, deductibles, cost-sharing, co-pays and drug prices while reducing benefits with no controls. The bill has mandates to false those unable to afford the insurance to have to purchase unaffordable mediocre insurance and taxes the middle class with taxes on policies that workers sacrificed thousands of dollars each in order to see those policies provide nearly adequate, contributory medical coverage. There are also annual caps on benefits.

Like father, grandfather, great grandfather like son, grandson, great grandson. Jay Rockefeller a latter day robber baron.

Dean is right, Rockefeller is simply old wealth protecting that wealth. Defeat the Bill.”

“Dean is 100% correct. Gibbs is not credible -- he is a confirmed liar with no credibility. The Bill should be defeated.

Gibbs now joins Scott McClellan and Dana Perrino as a White House Press Secretary whose loyalty to the warts, dishonesty and greed of his President dwarfs his belief in honesty with the American people. After watching Obama direct the health care bill into one that provides a bailout to the drug pushers of Big Pharma and the health insurers at the expense of providing affordable, quality health care to all Americans, McClellan, uh, I mean Gibbs, acts as if Lieberman was forced to give anything up. This Bill provides never-ending subsidies to the drug pushers and health insurers while permitted them to reduce benefits, raise premiums, raise co-pays, raise cost-sharing, raise deductibles and raise drug prices with no controls. Just as in the so-called credit card reform, where a bought Congress and President directed the financial institutions to raise rates as they wished prior to it becoming effective, this Bill means poor health insurance, capped annually, with taxes on middle class workers' plans taken from workers who sacrificed tens of thousands of dollars each in wage increases in order to have adequate health insurance in which all are forced to participate.

Gibbs statements regarding Obama forcing Lieberman to compromise is so dishonest and self-serving to Obama that it renders him no longer credible about anything”

“Obama's and McChrystal's strategy of getting the Afghan people and the Europeans to die and get maimed in order to strengthen a brutal, corrupt, drug-pusherocracy in a country that poses no threat to the US or Europe even if the Taliban win can only work in the minds of the Poison Ivy League wrong group-think commander-in-chief and the always-wrong, teenage wannabe testoseroner military brass and their illegal private army contractor allies -- all of whom make a large fortune out of escalation and keeping the killing and injuries going.

This needs to be put into the hands of the adults -- the "out-now-safely" crowd that was right on Vietnam and Iraq. As stupid as continuing in Vietnam and Iraq was and as harmful as it was to Americans, Vietnamese and Iraqis alike, Obama's Afghanistan strategy is even more dishonest, anti-American and dumber. Additionally, Obama is dishonoring American soldiers by ordering them to fight, kill, die, maim and get maimed to strengthen a brutal, corrupt drug pusheroceracy opposed by nearly all patriotic Afghans.

Immediate, safe withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq is the only honorable course.

Obama told our young future military leaders at West Point that his mission for them (and Bush's mission for them before him) is to go fight, die and kill, maim and get maimed, in order to assist drug lords of a corrupt drug pusherocracy who just stole an election to escalate their drug pushing and corruption. “Sharrod Brown, Sheldon Whitehouse and Russ Feingold sold out on this deal. Harkin is going to try to challenge the filibuster. If that doesn't work, he'll probably support the Bill. It seems the only progressive left in the Senate might be Burris from Illinois. He appears to be willing to join the Republicans and send this despicable so-called health care reform bill into oblivion, where it belongs. Even self-defined independent socialist Bernie Sanders is unclear whether he'll filibuster. Ron Wyden tried to sneakily oppose the public option by claiming competition is the real issue -- ignoring that Big Pharma and the health insurers will set high premiums, etc and compete at unaffordable premium levels.

Lieberman can't defeat the public option or expansion of Medicare alone. The drug pushers of Big Pharma and the health insurers knew they owned the Democratic Senate and that despite the fact there are 59 Democratic Senators, over 250 Democrats in the House and a right-wing Democratic President posing as a progressive, they could defeat a powerful public option and expansion of Medicare through bribery -- also getting subsidies while remaining able to raise premiums, deductibles, cost-sharing, co-pays and drug prices with no controls. They knew the purchased Dems would demonize a willing Lieberman while they wouldn't reconcile or reduce filibuster numbers and win.

Lieberman didn't defeat a progressive public option providing quality universal health care. Obama, Pelosi, Reid so-called progressive Dems and the Republicans defeated it.

And before the 2010 midterm elections, a HCR bill with a strong public option would be operational.

But shhhhh!!! Don`t let Lieberman know this. That`s what they are planning to do. Passing a legislation is a political game and there are many means to get to an end.”

“Lieberman's stance has nothing to do with torturing liberals and is not responsible for defeating the public option or expanded Medicare. It is designed to permit Democrats to demonize him so that peoples' focus is diverted from the fact that a 60 Democratic Senate, 250+ Democratic House and a right-wing Democratic President masquerading as a progressive failed to pass even a compromise strong, universal, quality health care public option open to all.

Democrats could have reduced the number of votes necessary to end a filibuster or taken health care to reconciliation but refused to do so. That is because they, and Obama, along with the Republicans have been bribed to pass a bill that proviides massive subsidies to the drug pushers of Big Pharma and the healh insurers for poor insurance, annually capped while still leaving them with the right to raise premiums, deductibles, cost sharing, co-pays and drug prices with no controls. The Bill also includes a middle class tax hike.

Lieberman is not responsible for defeating the public option, Reid, Pelosi, Obama, Feingold, Wyden, Brown and the Republicans are. Don't b fooled and just blame Lieberman. He's a beard.”

“Respectfully, the Democrats have 59 votes in the Senate without Lieberman and could reduce the number required to filibuster to 55 without the Republicans being able to stop it. They won't do reconciliation in order to get a true health care reform bill and they won't reduce the number of Senators required to filibuster to get quality, affordable health care for all Americans. So they use the old "demonize Lieberman" game to divert attention from the fact that all of them are voting for a soak-the-middle-class--with-unaffordable-health-insurance-and-enrich-Big-Pharma-and-the-health-insurers Bill. There's no excuse for such a poor health care bill to pass a Democratic Senate that has 51 Senators let alone 59 Democratic Senators unless that's what the Democrats want. Blame Reid, Whitehouse, Feingold, Sanders, Harkin and Brown if health care passes without a strong, quality public option open to all, as they had to acquiesce in order for the despicable bill to pass regardless of Lieberman's efforts to weaken the Bill. And he still chairs committees and sub-committees.”

They even got a middle class tax increase in the Bill.

Liberman didn't defeat a progressive public option providing quality health care for all who wanted it. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Mitch McConnell defeated it. “Obama knows the progressive caucus is not progressive. He knows they have no principles and will vote through whatever Obama wants. So Obama, who is obviously owned by the drug pushers (Big Pharma and the drug lords of Afghanistan) just ignores progressives because he knows they're Pavlov's dogs and he's Pavlov. Look at Weiner who made all that noise and then sold out on the public option. Look at Grayson -- same thing. And then there's Wyden, who pushes competition as opposed to public option, knowing the drug companies and health insurers will simply fix rates at a high level and compete at high premium levels.

Neither version of the health care bill -- Pelosi's or Reid's -- deserves a single progressive vote. They both simply provide huge subsidies to Big Pharma and the health insurers and allow them to raise premiums, deductibles, cost-sharing, drug prices and co-pays with no controls whatsoever. Both bills mandate coverage whether people can afford it or not and neither bill offers everyone a quality public option at a reasonable rate under reasonable conditions. The Senate Bill, Obama's favorite, taxes plans that workers sacrificed tens of thousands of dollars in wage increases in order to have moderately decent coverage. The Senate bill also caps benefits annually,.

Progressives have already sold out and will salivate when Pavlov Obama rings his bell by voting for sellout healthcare.”

“Americans must be both cynical and self-deludedly self-righteous. How can anyone, let alone people as brilliant as Obama and Gates, believe the Afghan people are going to be willing to die and get maimed to keep a corrupt, brutal drug-pusherocracy in power? Patriotic Afghans, even if they're against the fundamentalists, will be much more willing to fight to drive out the drug-pusherocracy and the foreign occupier that put the drug-pusherocracy in power, than to fight to keep the drug-pusherocracy in power. Even with respect to the Taliban's feudal, backwards treatment of women, the drug-pusherocracy and its allies (drug warlords) are only marginally better in their treatment of women -- not nearly enough so to get the support of a majority of Afghan women.

So of course Karzai says it'll take 15-20 years for them to field the kind of army Gates and Obama want them to field. The drug lords don't want to spend any of the drug or bribery money they get on anything as fickle as the Afghan people.

Immediate, safe withdrawal of all US troops and contractors from Iraq and Afghanistan is the only sane, adult course for improving US security. Karzai is simply saying that as it is impossible to raise an Afghan army and Afghan security force to get killed and maimed for a corrupt drug-pusherocray, the US will serve that role for the indefinite future. HuffPo is simply putting the spin on Karzai's statement that Obama wants put on it -- that the handpicked warlord who just stole an election who was put in power due to 9 years of American depression-sustaining, deficit-meteoring expenditures and US and Afghan blood and limbs -- is some kind of a dissident. Conyers's Detroit posse are and were second to none as heroes to the progressive (intelleigent humanistic) cause. Comparing Conyers and his posse to Obama is like comparing John Coltrane and the musicians around him (Conyers' posse) to some mediocre, only-for-money wannabe musicians (Obama and the Obamaniacs).

Obama and his allies are either a group of mediocre thinkers hopelessly lost in the wholly wrong group-think of the greedy -- removed-from-reality poison Ivy Leaguers -- or just outright corrupt. Obama's stupid embrace of both voodoo economics (the economics of the greedy against the Middle Class) and the warmongering wannabe-teenage military brass testoseoners, simply ignoring facts in order to perpetuate the barbaric, greedy policies of the corporations relegates Obama to below mediocrity already.

Obama shouldn't whine, he should listen to his intellectual and moral superiors -- in this case Conyers -- and learn.”
