I think of the ministers at the Anglican church that my mother attends here in Sydney the work they do countless cancer sufferers, straight and gay, who stay at the ministry during their treatment. I am happy to listen to Christians such as these.

And then there is you. You remind me of the old Dean of Sydney who railed against homosexuality, whilst most of his choir was gay and running around calling everyone Mary.

You are truly, truly frightened that somehow, someone will spot this weakness in your faith and it will crack and crumble. You acutally don't believe in your own salvation. You start - and I recognise that you don't believe it yourself.

My mother has _no_ gay children. But that doesn't stop her from knowing the simple thing that you missed again. That her salvation is her salvation. It's not mine, it's not yours. It's hers. She understands what you have missed, that evangelism is not preaching. Spreading the word is done through kindness, not judgement.

I find it interesting that you are so incensed by my immoral lifestyle (which turns out to be not so immoral to you after all) that you failed to ask a simple question about me. You assumed. How much more in this debate do you assume? Things that you also do not know?

At no point did I attack you, in fact I was kind in putting my point to you. Yet you, you were harsh, you judged my mother immediately without asking questions.

You perhaps may wish to examine your soul in meditation with God and your pastor on the judgement one.”

“My mother is a born again Christian who has managed to be inclusive and supports gay marriage. What she has grasped is that it's is up to each individual to accept Christ in their lives.

It is not for you to decide whether I turn to your version of Christianity. Ultimately what matters here is your own faith, your own heart, your own soul. Your own salvation.

It matters not to your eternal soul whether I marry one individual. It will have no bearing on how Christ views you in your afterlife. God gave us freewill. He allowed us to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. He had the power to stop us, but did not. From that moment on, we - the human race - had the liberty to make our own choices. We may turn to him, or against him.

God chooses to allow us to make our choices. You cannot force anyone to love you - God has no joy in people being forced to love him. This is what you are asking of me. You are denying me the right to choose God. To choose who I marry. To only believe what you believe.

What you have failed to see is that I already understand what you believe in. But it's not what I want for myself. God made me free to choose to take that risk with my own soul, with my own life, with my own future. You aren't going to hell for it.”

this particular 'Christian' has a real problem with removing what Jesus was supposed to have said, from what Paul later bent it to, mostly to suit the Greeks.

The rules, dogma and doctrine came well after poor Jesus was feeding the hungry, hanging out with the lepers and being an all round general nice guy.

Sadly - I don't think Jesus would like this person very much - which I guess they will find out at the Pearly Gates.”
