19 More Advertisers Ditch Glenn Beck

“Awesome! YAY for ColorOfChange!!”

“The color of change is green and FOX is covered in that color. They dominate just about every time slot on cable news. The advertisers will be back and will spend their money with a winner. Or should they spend their money on MSNBC with 30% of the viewers of FOX. Well they would get their spots cheaper,,,,,but who would see them?”

“James Rucker is telling half truths. Here is what AmMed sent me via email when I complained about them moving ads.
AmMed Direct advertises on the Fox Network as we do on many other networks across the nation. However, our direct marketing contract with this network does not allow us to select a particular time slot or program. We apologize if our commercial running during the Glenn Beck program offended you. We do not endorse the beliefs of Glenn Beck or any other TV personality. We merely advertise on all networks in order to reach all audiences.”

Now to the book reviews.. I volunteer at our local library and am reading Lisa See's books.. Peony in Love was lovely.. as was Snow Pea and the Secret Fan.. next for me is On Gold Mountain; the story of the See family story. Have become interested in Chinese history and these stories, like Wild Swans, An Unwanted Daughter among other novels and biographies brings life and perspective to the history..
Loved Isabele Allende ... brought some of Chile's story to life..
looking forward to reading some of Huffpost's picks..
thank you Arianna... I feel as you do.. my dad once bought me some books for Christmas when I was about 7 or 8 and I read them under the covers thru the night. Next day my father asked why I wasn't reading and when I told him I finished them he packed up the books, returned them to the store and took me to the library for a card of my very own. And the love affair with books escalated.. I started with As and moved up the stacks.. Remember loving Rumer Godden and Mika Waltari..”

Why Designers Are Dissing Michelle
Commented Apr 08, 2009 at 00:31:52 in Style
“On another post concerning the same topic, I wrote a comment stating that I appreciated Mrs. O's support of young designers, but would also like to see her wear some of the more established designers. However, after reading a diary on DailyKos by dmitcha (link below), I take that comment back. Before those designers get their underpants in a bunch over what Michelle does or does not wear, perhaps they should work on diversifying their runway shows. I hope Michelle continues to avoid wearing their clothes until they start using more women of color. With the exception of Diane Von Furstenberg, who has been a strong advocate for diversity, and a few others; most of the big name designers continue to shut models of color out of their shows. Some of them even had the nerve to say they don't use models of color because they don't want to be known as an ethnic designer. Whatever the hell that means! It’s a shame that we still have to discuss this issue in the year 2009 but unfortunately, the fashion industry still has a very long way to go. The diary is definitely worth a read.

“I forgot about Diane Von Furstenberg, this is one big name designer I hope she wears. She could rock that wrap dress, and DVF is very smart, she diversifies her models and she picked Michael Knights hot pink short set as a winner of a challenge on Project Runway which I would have worn if I still wore short shorts. I always thought she had great taste.”

“I love how the fashion snarkys say Michelle shouldn't wear anything tight and then criticize her for wearing a-line skirts and loose cardigans. Just say you are a republican who hates the first lady and nothing she does or wears is going to be to your liking. Anyone with eyeballs can see how beautiful she looks.”

No. This will damage our children. Oh, the horror.”
