“Adam is famous for his talent - a voice that can hit octaves few other men can venture too, the ability to control that voice and melt the heart strings of the listener and a refreshing new style. He came in second on American Idol because the religious right made sure their teen daughters voted more often then anyone else.

The proof is in the pudding. Kris Allen's debut album (he WON American Idol) now sits at a precarious 19 on the Billboard Charts and is falling while Adam Lambert's album debut at number 1 BEFORE the AMA's and shot up another four million in sales after the AMA appears and the ablbum got there by knocking out Streisand's number 1 album after 46 years in the business and the only female singing star to have 10 number one albums over five decades of performing. Lambert will be around for quite some time with a debut like that. Kris Allen won't be mentioned next year and he will join the likes of Fantasia, Stoddard, Aiken, et al. Ahh but there's Underwood. Carrier Underwood has survived only because she is white blond bread America pandering to the bubba country folks aka the religious right. As long as he remains in country she will survive until she nears 30 and a new pert Christian blond comes along.”

Bottom line here: double standard. Janet can grab a dancer's dick and rub it suggestively, yet a gay male performer can do similar to a female dancer and be banned by ABC. Brittany, Aigulara and Madonna can open mouth kiss from mouth to mouth and we get to see ABC repeat the scene hundreds if not thousands of times in replay but Adam can't kiss another man without being banned. And the head shoved into the groin? Pink's antics were worse then Adam. She ventured into the audience and slammed the face of an innocent bystander into her near naked crotch rubbing his face back and forth in it. And yet Pink is glorified and never once faces the threat of the FCC or banning by ABC.

ABC should NOT be forgiven for this whatsoever. I'll miss seeing Adam on The View or any other ABC program because ABC has been removed from my program selection. I hope everyone else removes ABC too.”

“The Chris Brown replacement was a slap in the face of the gay community. By inviting Brown they were snubbing their nose at a male gay performer and telling the world it was "ok" to promote and encourage convicted felons over a gay man who kissed another gay man on television.

That takes us back to Lambert agreeing to appear on The View. He should say "no thanks". Any appearance on an ABC program is going to benefit ABC financially - the majority of gay viewers will tune in to ABC enriching ABC advertisers and it was ABC's original intention to destroy Adam's career by banning him as they did. Sadly for ABC their actions backfired (hence the now backpeddling and invitation to The View) and they are now being widely boycotted and have earned a homophobic reputation. As a gay man I know I'll make sure I avoid ABC and their affiliates - hard for me because I worked for Apple as a Mac Genius for five years and am devoted to Mac's - and it is my hope that Steve Jobs/Apple puts pressure on ABC/Disney to cease and desist ever doing this type of action again.”

“Personally, I feel Adam should continue to boycott all things ABC: that would be ABC television, movies, Disney, Apple and Pixar and dismiss any offer to appear on any ABC show. He would be better advised to appear on shows like Letterman, Fergison and de Generous.”

“Toilet cruising is no longer a need of the gay male. Today, gay men are not forced into the closet or forced to hide their sexuality. It is accepted. Gay men can marry. They can have children, raise a family, and be just as normal as any straight couple. When George Michael hit the scene he was not able to do that. As a gay man I can openly pursue other men (gay or straight) just as straight men can pursue women (straight or gay). That doesn't men, as a gay man, that I won't be rejected by a straight man but I still have the right to do so without being beat up or jailed for doing so. GM is from a generation where he had to hide his sexual orientation - where he could be beaten up or even killed (Matthew Shepard is a fine example) for expressing his desire to date or be with another man. That time is over and in ten years we'll all look back and wonder how/why that was ever allowed to happen. We do that now, today, when some preacher in the backwoods of Kentucky refuses to marry a black man and a white women - a Chinese man and a white women. When GM hit the radio the majority of people allowed or put up with that kind of discrimination - today we simply don't tolerate it. And in ten years we simply won't tolerate people discriminating against same sex couples.”

“As the owner of one of the largest gay dating sites in the U.S. (WarpCity), I'm often taken aback by statements by George Michael and other "older" gay men (Rupert Everett is another fine example). I've been gay all my life and drugs and toilet cruising is not a normal part of gay life. Drugs are pervasive throughout our society but are not a normal part of the gay man's life by any means. George Michael comes from a generation where being gay was not accepted. Being gay is a normal - it happens in every form of the animal and human kingdom. No one is forced to be gay - not by their environment nor is it learned. Gay people are born gay. Some may hide it because of peer/parental/religious pressure but hiding it doesn't take it away. We've seen that so many times it isn't funny anymore - the bible thumping screaming minister who preaches homosexuality is sin and is continually caught having gay sex and then blaming the devil. The devil has nothing to do with being gay.

George Michael does more harm to the gay community then he does to help it. He should seriously get into a good rehabilitation program and comes to terms with his life. And the gay community should insist that all gay role models promote good living. If George Michael can't do that then he should get out of the celebrity business altogether.”

Many a rock star has flipped the bird including Colin Farrell, a non-rock star, on national TV and ABC didn't cancel his next appearance on the Oscars or cut away when he took to the podium. We see so much grinding on national television it is considered normal fare. What we're really talking about here is a double standard being imposed by ABC. They close their eyes to the "stuff" practiced on national television by heterosexual individuals but the moment an openly gay entertainer performs the same or a similar action they work to destroy his career. The best thing all of us can do is to walk away from ABC entirely. Boycott everything ABC - from television to products and their product associations. ABC's actions are intolerable in a free society. Discrimination is ugly.”

I find it funny to hear all these naysayers whining their heads off. Its the very same group of tight-a*ses who screamed their head off over Elvis swiveling his hips (does anyone remember that?) and Ed Sullivan filming him only from the waist up. Old Ed wasn't stupid like ABC and refuse Elvis, he just felt it was his right to censor the performer. It backfired, of course, and made Elvis an even bigger star just as ABC is doing for Adam. Adam's album was already at Number 1 before the AMA's, he's had another million sales and his debut album will probably topple all the other first album sales releases - as it should. He is a pure genius, street-wise, gutsy, and dang it, one handsome gay stud!

BTW, I run the largest "SF-only" gay dating service in California. Adam is now single and we'd be happy to have him sign on to find that perfect husband! :-)”

“He was on Broadway in Cabaret - he played the Joel Grey role and was nominated for a Tony so the guy can carry a tune. I think they could have come up with better writing. Did anyone notice that Neil Patrick Harris was the Executive Producer - the "only" Executive Producer for the entire 61st Emmy Award Show? It was his money that funded the entire production and if it fell flat on its back he would be held responsible, both financially and publicly.

It was a great show. He did an amazing job. You've got to hand it to the guy. Let's see YOU pull off something that great!”

“Neil Patrick Harris aka NPH was the best host we've had on an award show in many years. He's funny, talented, a bit on the crazy and heavy on the cute side and kept the show running along nicely. I loved the show from beginning to end and I rarely stay tuned for long once the opening songs are finished but I did here. I can't believe Jon Cryer won for best supporting actor - gimme a break! NPH is far better on HIMYM and for a gay guy, he pulls off the best straight act on TV.

I hope he marries Burtka (who already has a set of twin kids). They look good and seem very happy together and NPH would make a great Dad. I would LOVE him as my Dad! He is so funny but doesn't take himself too seriously and that's refreshing. Great show! Hope he gets the gig for the Oscars!
