“They look like the government forces that 'disbanded' Occupy protesters around the US. Government/State reaction to protest seems to be the same or similar around the world.”

“Dear lord - I went to the occupy Detroit debacle and it was the most filthy and ideologically disjointed example of lunacy I have ever seen. The garbage and filth was overwhelming - literally. Most significantly was it wasn't really much of a rally as it was a bunch of high-ons hanging out with very bizarre - and again severely disjointed - signs; including some idiotic, self described, Stalinists and Maoists. They were there for days wallowing in their filth and I didn't see the cops give them the time of day - nor did the media because it would have embarrassed the left”
“Lip service from Obama ... while Obama probably did support the cause of ending apartheid he is the complete opposite of Mandela who was a socialist/communist and who supported the violent overthrow of the South African government.”
brotherskeeper on Dec 7, 2013 at 13:05:21
“So the man most responsible for establishing true democracy in the RSA is a communist? Do some reading. Mandela always denied he was a communist. He nationalized no industries after becoming president and created the truth and reconciliation commission which investigated crimes by Both the former regime And the ANC. He further stated publicly that he regretted turning to armed resistance. You're spouting the apartheid regime's propaganda.”
“Iran has complied with international law, signed the NPPT and allowed UN inspections, it is not doing whatever it wants. The government of Israel has always done as it pleased and continues to do so today.
Israel has always displayed an unwillingness to engage in meaningful diplomacy but chooses to strike violently if it even vaguely perceives another country is doing something Israel doesn't approve of. It has no place at a table where government representatives are striving to attain a peaceful agreement.”
“Religion may be the excuse but I don't believe that the heads of government anywhere in the world today fights for principles.
"...the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country." Hermann Goring
This is what is happening around the world, including the USA.”

“I would think it's a doomsday prepper house except there is no food being grown, livestock being raised, potable water source ...
Seriously, zombies wouldn't last very long because 1)bacteria in the dead body would consume it 2) insects would consume it 3)birds and other animals that eat carrion would finish off the job”
“Why should Iran discuss anything with Israel? Israel dropped bombs on Iraq and Syria without repercussion and represents the biggest threat to peace in middle east. In addition to having bombed its neighbors Israel has an illegal stockpile of a few hundred nuclear bombs and refuses to permit UN inspections of their WMDs. As if that isn't enough, Israel has not disputed that it is responsible for the assassinations of nuclear scientists.
In contrast Iran has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty which gives it the right to develop nuclear energy as an alternative to oil. Whatever else Iran is or isn't they are not in the wrong here and they have every right to defend themselves from the violence driven Israeli government.”

“"Iran has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty which gives it the right to develop nuclear energy" in exchange for submitting all of its facilities to thorough inspections to assure that it develops no weapons. As long as it does not comply with that requirement it has no rights at all.”
Lorne Newman on Nov 29, 2013 at 14:10:09
“Why should Iran act like grownups? That is the price for being part of the global community. If they want to act like hysterical children then maybe they should be treated that way.”

“It is tough to carry on an exchange of opinions when HuffPost, true to its tradition, wants to censor every single comment that goes on the air. Maybe this rag should follow the example of serious and reputable publications and simply do away with the censorship. Or am I wrong?”
Jaysonrex on Nov 29, 2013 at 14:00:19
“Actually, you are right "OrangeSalad". Iran should go ahead and do what it wants. When the time comes, Israel will also go ahead and do what it wants. The old quid pro quo. It is important that no Muslim or anti-Semitic Christian complains when Israel strikes. That is all. And have a great day.”

“Religion poses the biggest threat to the middle east. If it wasn't for religion, there would be peace.”

“" Israel dropped bombs on Iraq and Syria without repercussion."
Perhaps you could explain the "repercussions" received by the Arabs for rejecting UNR181 and waging a war against Israel's existence in direct violation of the UN Charter? Iraq and Syria are still in that state of war they declared in 1948. That you can't demand the Arabs unconditionally end the war they unconditionally declared and unconditionally wage is an example of why the war continues.
Meanwhile, a claim that it's ok for Iran to violate the NNPT because somebody else has not signed it is not rational.”
“Only someone 21 yo could say, "I'm 21, so it's hard to decide what kind of course life will take." Dear Mr. Gleeson, you will come to find out that you don't decide the course your life will take. To quote one of my heroes, "Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans." Good luck in your most honorable endeavors, we need more people like you.”
“We've known all of this for years. Other developed countries spend less than half of what we do while providing full medical coverage for their citizens. Even if we didn't have medicare in place we could emulate the system in a country like France and cut our spending in half.
Obamacare is Romneycare rewritten by health insurance industry lobbyists. This is why there have been surprises for Dems who supported and passed the legislation, they didn't know what was in the laws.
And for all those who say they don't want the government making decisions about their healthcare they already have the insurance companies making decisions about how their doctors practice medicine.
Unfortunately the corporations run our country while we pretend that isn't true.
The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.
“some general and girl things - summer gloves, crinolines, ironing everything including bras and slips, garter belts, sanitary napkin belts, poodle skirts, bobby sox, having a set bed time and a bedroom without a tv or phone, memorization - multiplication tables and poems, dressing up to travel, latch key kids, collecting two and five cent bottles for money, red wagons, crate box scooter - made with parts of an old roller skate and a discarded crate, marbles, tailoring available at no charge when shopping in many department stores, lay away, Gunsmoke, Ed Sullivan, Walter Cronkite, five day work week with 35 - 40 hours, a lunch hour and two coffee breaks, slow dancing, sewing our own clothes - buying material and patterns, everyone's mom always being home, family dinner at home every night, women's only work options being a school teacher or secretary ...”
“says the man who dismantled Glass-Steagall and shoved NAFTA down our throats ... who needs a Republican when a Democrat can do the same job but without the protests or resistance?
Why don't you interview with Amy Goodman and to sell that load of ca ca about Summers? Oh, that's right, you are afraid of her after what she's done to you in the past.”
“so the person who told the truth about the NSA, Snowden, Obama claims is a felon who should be punished and then Obama determines the best person to oversee the NSA is the person who lied to congress about the program's reach while insisting that we didn't need to have Snowden put these issues before the American public. It is amazing he can say these things and keep a straight face”

“No kidding....this guy is more corrupt than old tricky Dick!”
“yet one more thing Dems and Republicans have agreed on. Bush's domestic spying programs and Cheney's 'secret' drone war and assassinations based on secret evidence, secret laws and secret court rulings are some others. Oh, and cut corporate taxes for the 'job makers. Thanks for the bipartisanship Obama!”
“Obama administration has ensured that privacy is illegal, a criminal act, based on secret laws, secret courts, secret evidence...and truth telling is a punishable act. The people who out and out lied to congress while under oath, committed perjury, are given a pass by Obama DOJ.
Snowden is a true hero and patriot while Obama, well not so much.
