“In that group if Priebus goes up against Palin, he is going to lose...badly.

The GOP does need to become more tolerant, but more importantly then its chairman going on a "feel good tour", the elected GOP members on the hill need to start thinking about what's best for the country and not just what's best for themselves and their cobbled together constituencies. Until that happens, no matter how wide Priebus pretends his arms are stretched, nothing is going to happen.”

“Marco Rubio is a perfect example of someone who wants to be president and wants to do what he thinks is right, but when the two are at odds, he sides on wanting to be president more then wanting to be right (as in correct).”

Mike Huckabee: Churches Should Reject Tax-Exempt Status

Commented Jun 13, 2013 at 09:01:16 in Politics

“I like this notion, but practically it just wouldn't work. Religious institutions survive on donations, which for many would dry up without the tax exempt status. The US is the most philanthropic country in the world, but a significant (although certainly not the only) reason for that is that the government has set up a system by which people are rewarded for their generosity. I think this would backfire.”

“Bill Daley is a great man. He has quite the background although I think it would be interesting that the mayor of Chicago and the governor of the same state would both be former WH COS to the same president. Not evaluating that, just stating a fact. Good luck to Bill Daley.”

John McCain: Rand Paul Already Proved Wrong On Terrorism By Boston Bombings

Commented Jun 10, 2013 at 08:40:53 in Politics

“My only issue is this...Sen. McCain "suggested that Sen. Rand Paul has lost his credibility" and I would argue that he didn't have any to lose. His father put in a lot of time and whether or not one agrees with him, there is little doubt about that. Rand Paul, in my opinion, is simply angling to take advantage of that time put in by his father so that he can continue the Paul legacy of running for president. I'm guessing (and not speaking for him) that his path to the presidency is clear for him, although I don't see it.”

“A divided GOP, shocker! There is no real leadership in the GOP whatsoever. The Party Chairman has no idea how to lea a party or caucus individuals, the Speaker is more of an attack dog than a leader, the Majority Leader cares more about being Speaker then the GOP Caucus, the Minority Leader in the Senate is now focused on trying to stay Leader and not lose his seat. There is no surprise that there isn't a cohesive message. Both parties have stopped working on what is best for us and instead are now playing politics 24/7.”

IRS Poll Finds Many Americans Think Obama Knew About Targeting

Commented Jun 7, 2013 at 09:00:37 in Politics

“My comment isn't really about the IRS at all, but about the climate. If President Bush said that he was going to listen to everyone he would have been impeached. If the IRS had held up non profit status for religious institutions who preached against him from the pulpit there would have been outrage. Had President Bush allow what happened in Libya to happen, he would have been called a failure. President Bush did plenty wrong that he had to answer for, and some he didn't, but how many issues have to crop up before the press begins to be objective? The same comment applies to certain Democrat House Members.”

“This is true, or at least partially true. There is no doubt that stupid comments helped the Republicans defeat themselves, but when the Chairman was elected he said it was his job to get more conservatives elected. Maybe he should look at Republicans as a whole and remember that the tea party wont win in places like Maine and that care needs to be given to people like Susan Collins. The other half of the coin is after the RNC raised a banner amount of money and Karl Rove raised even more, that there was NO messaging, NO coordinated attack, NO real ground game, and the "NO's" go on and on and on.”

Sure, are journalists (for the most part) anti Republican, I think so. And before people write me about Fox News, please know that my response will be every other news station and virtually every other newspaper. But regardless, how about the Chairman work with Members to create policies that are beneficial for the American public? Forget the press and forget the rules and stay focused on what is right.”
