“Greed is not exclusively a western concept. It is the element of the Human Condition..which every culture. class, and faith has suffered. Having read your profile, I understanding your impression, but you can not be so quick to denounce the 'dollar', an inanimate object representing the ability of means, as a sole antagonist for your culture's woes.

“Often I am offended by the presence of putrid stupidity, dogma, fear mongering and hate. I am also under the personal perspective that narcissism, in its raw state (such as these two outwardly possess) is a tangable indication the there is a complete absence of humanity.
As I am also not one to worship at the alter of celebrity, I find nothing of substance or value from those whose only goal is win the 'popularity contest' at any cost. With no intellectaul capacity, no talent, and nothing to offer of true sustainable value in the arena of public service.
I am not personally compelled to render any glint of respect or honor to those whom only honor their own rise to fame at the expense of others. All the while never doing the work necessary to add something palpable to the better good of all.
I am neither 'conservative', nor 'liberal': I see things for what they are in their exact state. You would wise to do the same.”

“You reply as if a 'fan' of hers. The narcissism tied to her ignorance is something that is completely and utterly shocking and condescending, as it is seemingly without recourse..for Palin. Because of the celebrity obsession mixed with the viral A.D.D. of our current media, someone like Palin is allowed to exist in a perpetual vacuum of fame.
I am not personally disturbed by Palin, as I am disturbed greatly that it is demonstrative how incredibly dull-minded the American populace is in there fascination with her.
The complete absence of intellectual credibility exhibited by her is embraced by the public, says quite a bit about America itself.”

“'Now, let me say that I have always liked McCain. I don't agree with him on everything, to say the least, but I think he is a good man in a very flawed system.'
'her poisonous brand of charisma will continue to infect Republicans, meaning that all of national politics will continue to be infected with a vicious virus of dishonest, know-nothing hyper-partisanship.'
This the most honest and balance article about Sarah Palin and the Republicans I have read: without the reactive name-calling and counter-vitriol one comes to expect from both 'left' and 'right' here on HuffPo. I, too, like McCain, but found that the Presidential Candidate version of him was absolutely abhorrent.
Although rather watered down in its final version, the McCain-Feingold Act that passed was the only attempt beyond rhetoric to place limits on Campaign Finance and corporate malfeasance in regards to policy.
It is a VERY flawed system, indeed: one which Obama is currently struggling with at present. How can one change something completely corrupt when you haven't the same leverage of influence and power as the very system your trying to change?
Great article.”

“I AM going to tell you he will get re-elected with unemployment relatively high, yes indeed. That will be in large part because of lazy voters' unwillingness to seek real 'change' beyond sloganeering, and his corporate backers will be able to slant numbers and figures long enough to win the day.
re-election 2012: with 8-10% unemployment.
'Cynicism' is a lazy mindset that does not allow for the neutral intake of unbiased information to come through and be understood for its 'exact nature'. I am not cynical; just simply informed..with no filter. And no bias to 'party'
'But surely politicians--as corrupt as they may be--don't want to see unemployment skyrocket.' This last statement speaks to your naivete. A statement made under the assumption the government still is for the will of the people.
No, it's not..it is for the will of lobbyists and their corporate masters.”

“I agree with your analysis, except that it is adjusted (even overly-concentric) along 'party' lines.
Both 'parties' are guilty of the forward momentum of avarice and corporate fascism borne from the 'bubble' of the 90's. Glass-Steagall was repealed under the Clinton Administration, and the argumwent so goes that it was under a republican-controlled congress who forced Clinton's hand at doing so.
But it wasn't just the Republicans who disallowed regulation of 'black box' derivatives to go on uninspected. Think about Brooksley Born and whom ultimately destroyed her career with the CTFC.
It was Greenspan and the Fed who convince BOTH 'parties' to not be swayed by what she uncovered about those deivatives. Alongside that, lobbyism has become the ultimate influence in policy as a whole.
Think about it. 'Republican', 'Democrat'..meaningless nomenclature at the hands (and money) of corporate malfeasence.”

“Corporations don't need to generate employment opportunities to further revenue expansion: Quite the opposite .. they have created a way in which the populace is completely obsolescence in this regard.
The bailouts have raised enough capitol and liquidity that there is no one need to create anything that resembles 'free market for all'. The populace has been effectively 'phased out' and reduced to the level of 'consumers' only, hence why a lot of old GS henchmen (former executives) have become part of President Obama's Economic Team.
It furthers their own cause. Simultaneously, Obama's interest in the Big Pharma lobby insures that anything resembling health care reform will be watered down tremendously.
It is all about revenue expansion and self-interest. 'We' are not in the equation: only to control us...and nothing more.”
