“For what it's worth, my tween picked this one to see over the vampire flick and it's become her new favorite movie.

I'm happy she likes the movie where folks help each other regardless of skin color, and stand up to our societies continued prejudices to help each other over the other exploitative teen flick this Thanksgiving weekend. I'm glad she insisted and I'm glad these are the values to which she aspires.

Come on, are we talking a bad rash or skin cancer?

My wife's a physician and a very good friend is a dermatologist in Calgary, so please tell me what you're talking about, because you don't wait for cancer in Canada. A three week wait for a dematology appointment is not too much (my wife's a pediatric neurologist and her patients with private insurance used to wait six months to see her here in the US - now she works at county and her Medical and Medicare patients wait up to 3 months - try that when you're kid's seizing multiple times a day) Seriously, most skill ailments are not life threatening.

P.S. I'm Canadian too, and now live in the US, so don't try pulling false equivalencies on me either - my mom was treated for cancer in Canada, my father-in-law is being treated for it now here in the US - I know from what I speak - Canada may work from a public health basis and triage patient care on that basis, but quit pretending you don't get fast, expert and complete care when you truly need it.”
