David Gregory Gets Tougher: His Expression Says It All

David Gregory Gets Tougher: His Expression Says It All

Commented Dec 28, 2009 at 12:30:34 in Media

“Concur. Glenn Greenwald would be great.”

waitforme replied on Dec 28, 2009 at 14:28:21

“The reasons, I think, that Glenn Greenwald, Rachel Maddow, or for that matter, Jon Stewart, do what they do which makes us love and respect them is that their particular venues allow them to. If any of them were to become hosts of such as Meet the Press, while MTP might be far more interesting and informative, we would lose their special edges, the things they do best -- ferret out the facts, say what they know, speak truth to power.”

“Matthews is reported to be earning an annual $5 million so Gregory's income must be in that ballpark. Plus, all the free munchies and cocktails they can handle on the Washington social circuit. Don't expect tough questioning coming from these guys.”

A Letter From Roman Polanski

Commented Dec 28, 2009 at 10:12:18 in Entertainment

“This from today's Guardian newspaper (UK):

"Roman Polansi, the Oscar-winning film director under house arrest on charges of having sex with a 13-year-old girl, has expressed his gratitude to his supporters in an open letter to the French intellectual Bernard-Henri Lévy."

How brave, how kind, how generous of you Monsieur Levy to pass along to the Huffington Post readers this note from your good friend Monsieur Polanski.

Our hearts bleed for Monsieur Polanski.”

chickenNgravy replied on Dec 28, 2009 at 14:38:52

“"French Intellectual and Writer" What does that mean? He doesn't have a job. But he thinks real hard about stuff, much harder than 'normal' folk think about stuff and then he writes down stuff he thinks about that stuff. Cool job.”

Commented Dec 15, 2009 at 06:28:16 in Politics

“Susan B. Komen Foundation in bed with Big Pharma? Shocking. Mrs. Lieberman travels the globe (first class no doubt) on behalf of the Foundation giving lectures and earning a princely income while Big Pharma uses its money to lobby against life-saving generics. Does anyone really believe Joe Lieberman would endorse anything that goes against mighty Big Phama's exorbitant profits/exorbitant executive bonuses and his wife's livelihood.

Thanks Jane.”

“Why doesn't the US military buy-up all the poppies from the poor farmers for use in legitimate drug manufacturing? This would destroy the opium smuggling and the revenue source of the Taliban. Sounds simple enough but we never get a good answer to the question.”

“Because the drug lords are in the Senate and they think it is a great place to dump uranium. No war, no excuse to dump uranium in the most toxic way possible on people of the Islamic faith, and our soldiers.

It is not only murder and genocide, it is ecocide. Completely unforgivable. But why do they want to kill all of our troops? How does that make sense?”

Remembering John Lennon, 29 Years Later

“Imagine what Lennon would think about pro-war Scarborough.”

lacrabclaw replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 09:55:05

“come on palemail,
don't be closed-minded, very few people are "pro-war", sometimes people just consider a certian war justified. Sometimes people think its necessary, then the execution of said war goes awry. Sometimes its just better to keep your powder dry.
being peaceful is best, but sometimes you have to punch back.
Personally, I think 99% of wars ever fought were/are bad, I think Afgan. was initally necessary, but its been off the rails since middle '06.
Based on what I've learned from people like John Lennon, here's what I do:
I literally visualize and pray for "World Peace, Liberty and Justice for ALL" daily.
It sounds good in my head when I do it, but kinda "cheesy" when I write it down, feel free to join me though.”

Sarah Palin: Rogue Republican or Democratic Operative?

Commented Nov 03, 2009 at 05:26:03 in Politics
