“So being a mom is no "life experience," Mr. Bevin?”

“Being Secretary of State means a lot more experience than owning a business and not even insuring it. That sounds irresponsible to me. We don't need any more irresponsible men in the Senate. Just say no to the teapots and most Cons.”
“Having lived in 4 of those states that dislike themselves and that special one that loves itself so much, I can only say there are good and bad things to all of them and some cases deal breakers. One can tolerate a lot if one has good friends, even Texas and New York arrogance. I'm in Virginia now; we'll see how this goes.”
“Nope. Howitzers and mortars aren't yet street-legal. More work to do.
See those pictures of "militia" units in Ukraine patrolling??? That's their goal for America.”

“Why? Please be specific
Do you even know what is a procedure for getting silencer?”
JN Scott on Mar 1, 2014 at 00:25:26
“Hold your horses. FIRST, anyone with even a passing knowledge of metal working can make one in their garage in about an hour. Second, many countries, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, permit the possession of silencers, especially encouraged for hunting. Those three countries are not exactly bastions of the right to keep and bear arms. They don't make the gun silent, they reduce the noise level enough to reduce hearing damage done when shooting. They are STRICTLY regulated by the federal government in the same manner as a fully automatic weapon. Not the weapon with the silencer, mind you, just the silencer itself. It is a federal felony to manufacture or possess one without the special license. But EVERYONE in the gun repair business knows how to make one as it isn't terribly complicated. Some ranges get noise complaints. The whole silencer thing reduces the noise and will bring harmony to those that dislike the noise. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suppressor
Don't get too wrapped up in the hype, silencers have not been used in many crimes at all. 167 in a ten year span from 1995-2005. http://wcr.sonoma.edu/v08n2/44.clark/clark.pdf I understand the "hollywood" image of silencers, but it isn't what you think it is.”

“Why? Guns are loud. Why would you criminalize people who are trying not to disturb others?”
mikesmidi on Feb 28, 2014 at 18:51:16
“the gun haters???”
saml416 on Feb 28, 2014 at 17:49:58
“Please, share with us how many deaths have involved lawfully owned silencers. Less than the amount of deaths with lawfully owned machine guns, which is two deaths by lawfully owned machine guns...in 70 years. (One of which was by a cop.) So yeah, get off your soap box.”

“Why would you say that? Suppressors are legal in many other states. Do you have evidence that they are a serious problem in those states?
The reason you don't have that evidence is because suppressors are tightly regulated at the Federal level by the ATF under the National Firearms Act. There is a 30 year mandatory minimum sentence for using a suppressor during a crime. Each one is registered to an owner and a $200 tax stamp is required to purchase one.
Do your homework. The statistics simply do not support your reaction.”

“I agree Mark. Any rational shooter firing a weapon lawfully, usually at a range of some kind or hunting, wears ear protection. If they don't their stupid and shouldn't own a gun.
This is just another case of the mass hysteria and paranoia that's been created in America since 9/11 and worsened when a 'black man' had the audacity to be elected president. Thank goodness we have PPACA, now maybe we can get a lot of people on meds to help with their apparent deeply rooted psychological problems.
Fanned & Faved...you make it a great day :)”

“Really? They're unhinged? So tell me with all your brilliance how suppressors haven't been an issue in the other 39 states where it's legal to own one?”

“No point in disturbing the neighbors while you're shooting kids for brandishing Skittles and iced tea.”
