Roy Sekoff Challenges Congressman On GOP's Criticism Of Obama School Speech
Commented Sep 04, 2009 at 15:36:14 in Politics
“Why do these Republicans have their kids enrolled in government-run public schools anyway? Are they secret socialists?”
vew replied on Sep 04, 2009 at 16:00:29
“The wealthy attend private schools and many of the others home school. The religious right and right wing groups have been trying to destroy the public school system for the past 20 years. Public education in this country has always been the best leveler of the playing field for getting ahead in life. They want people to believe that the public schools are full of unruly students and bad teachers. But that is far from the truth. And a good education causes you to think and read for knowledge. Again what they don't realize is that you cannot stop the flow of information anymore. The internet in general and the social networking sites provide for a free flow of ideas. The problem now is that people believe everything they see and hear if it comes from a source they trust. So schools need to start teaching students how to discern when it's truth and when it's propaganda from either the right or the left.”

ASU Stiffs Obama, Claims Too Inexperienced For Honorary Degree
Commented Apr 10, 2009 at 01:13:20 in Politics
“Does ASU understand what the word "honorary" means? I thought it was like a gift (not earned), or did all previous commencement speakers have to enroll in their classes and fulfill academic requirements to receive their "honorary" degree?”
calirighty replied on Apr 10, 2009 at 01:39:28
“Do you know how to read? It specifically stated in the article what the usual requirement is for an honorary degree. I don't recall any mention of someone taking classes. I do recall it mentioning that the guest being at the top of their field, which Obama is not. They stated that Obama was not yet qualified. Not that he never would be qualified.”
