“An Egg McMuffin is better for you than oatmeal because protein and saturated fat is actually good for you and grains are nutrient poor at best and bad for you at worst. Just sayin'.”

“Except that grains provide a great deal of B vitamins that fat and meat (both processed into chemical imitations of themselves) do not. There are many more vitamins and nutrients provided by grains that you don't find in meats and certainly not plain fat. I agree that fat is not the devil it's been made out to be, but I think calling it good for you is huge stretch. And I also agree that REFINED grains, simple carbs and starches have led to the majority of our health problems in this country, but I believe it's ludicrous to compare oatmeal to an egg mcmuffin and not only side against the former but laud the health benefits of the latter. C'mon.
India, Japan, China? People live the longest and live almost entirely on rice...a grain, a starch, a carb-haven. There has to be more to all of this than simply classifying these foods are good, these are bad, across the board. Period.”
