Our nation is being run by a Merchant class which has decided it's the super-race. This is today's Republican Party.
As we all know, business people and entrepreneurs are insanely optimistic about things. They will predict a bright future for themselves no matter how screwed they are. It just seems to be part of the nature of the business class. That's why the Repubs ran the country into the ground, and why we're seeing all this goofy optimism.

Since I never believed, I cannot be disappointed in President Obama's politics and even though I did not deem him the best candidate, I support him and give him the same general benefit of the doubt that I have given to all Presidents at this point in their term.
Honest Chicago politicians surely must be schemers who learn to use the unlawful for public benefit before putting them in their proper place. Typical Chicago politicans pledge to remove corruption which they often fulfill; they just fail to mention that existing corruption will be replaced after it is removed.
President Obama will prove which sort of Chicago politician he is to me through his leadership in the investigation of a fraud that by all appearances finds those at the top often encouraging and certainly allowing fraud to permeate the system.”

The next step, I hope, is to re-enact the Glass-Stegal Act and then a broad reform package for the regulation of the derivative and credit default swap markets.
Plus, I'm getting awful tired of economists, American citizens no doubt, informing us that protecting American manufacturing and jobs is good for the global economy. So basically you lose your job to offshoring, but hey, I can make the little bit of money I have left last longer because the prices are cheaper.
