Catholic Church Shows Its Influence In Health Care Fight

“The Catholic Church is liberal? Ya gotta be kidding. I recently heard two Cathlic bishops involved in a very serious discussion about exorcism. There may be liberal Catholics, but the leaders of the place are living in the dark ages. And that they should be directly involved in driving political initiatives and writing laws is simply outrageous. I hope the members of congress who were consulting with them in the final hours of the House healthcare bill are exposed.”

They should know what the guests are going to say and be ready to challenge them.”

She came in second to a graceless, charmless Brazilian named Martha Vasconcellos.
Why didn't Miss Curacao win? Because it was 1968, the contest was being held in Miami Beach, USA......and she was black.”

FACT CHECK: Health overhaul myths taking root
Commented Aug 20, 2009 at 15:49:33 in Politics
“The Obama team's messaging has been very confusing. They did a great job during the campaign, but they have failed miserably on healthcare reform. For example, there has been too much talk about policy and cost and no discussion at all of the moral imperative to provide healthcare for all Americans. They need get rid of all the confusing rhetoric and simplify the message: focus on the fact that insurance companies have failed to care for the American people and that they in fact profit from denying care and that must change.”

“The public option, if passed, will be just that: an option. No one is going to force people to opt for it. So why do the anti-healthcare rerformers want to deny people the right to choose this option by killing it? Because that's what they do. They want to stop people from having choices. They want everything their way. The effort on the part of supposedly grass roots campaigns to disrupt town hall meetings is not just average middle class Americans spontaneously expressing their feelings. These people are experts at fake grass roots campaigns. They are pros. This is an industry. Their business is to create the illusion of a grass roots movement. Their purpose is to promote corporate interests. They are currently bussing people across state lines the country to push conspiracy theories about health care, like the outrageous right wing lie that health care reform is really a secret commie plot to kill old people. They are professional PR operatives generating exploitative, manufactured, strategically deployed outrage in order to line their own pockets.
