Obama and the Goldman Fiasco: Is This America Under Democratic Leadership?

“Dear President Barack Obama,

The news is full of a constant barrage vilifying Goldman Sachs both from the left and the right. What is written about Goldman Sachs seems to be fairly accurate. Yes, I agree that Goldman Sachs is feathering their own nest but on the other side of the coin they seem to be aiding our country along with themselves.

Now is the time to ask who is stoking the boilers and feeding this story into the media and why. Is this perception management being fed by corporations, health industry, and drug industry to destroy the huge support that President Obama has by creating a scandal in the banking bailout?

The truth is a nebulous commodity when dealing with such large forces with so much money to blow on cognition control. It is hard for us citizens to cut through the crap that is being feed us so I’m asking you, Mr. President, to speak out and give us, your supporters, the truth straight from the horses mouth.”

No bid contracts to the tune of billions and billions of dollars awarded to favored companies. Did the good citizens show up in Washington to demand a stop to the practice? NO!

Trillions of dollars slipped into bankers and corporations pockets directly from our countries coffers, did the people get outraged more than typing on a few blogs and show up in Washington to demand that our legislators stop giving away the store? NO!

So, now we get down to voting and we had a large turnout for President Obama. Has anything changed like you expected? Are any of the thieving bankers in jail? Do you expect anything to change?

Each and every American has been screwed big time and there was absolutely no backlash from the citizenry, none! Congress will continue to feather their own nest and take care of the lobbyist, corporations and the uber rich.

You and me will sit on our dead butts and do nothing but complain.

Millions of people out of work, millions of people lose their homes, millions of people lose their retirements (401k’s) millions, billions, trillions, the numbers don’t even count anymore……Do Americans go to Washington and demand until they get satisfaction? NO!

Is anybody tarred and feathered? NO! Shouted at even? NO!

Its been over for a long time, for many years now congress and corporations and the rich have done what they want and screwed who they can and we have done nothing about it.”

“Lots of complaining but no action from Americans. Even the Iranians are in the streets fighting for their country and not just sitting at their computers complaining. When Americans get angry enough to go to Washington and show them a little action or shove a few bankers around to make them understand we aren't going to take it anymore, well, that might force a change but it ain't gonna happen here in the uS we are nothing but a bunch of whinners and complainers but no action anymore. Who can blame politicians, bankers and the rich fat cats as they have nothing to fear and can loot our governent treasury anytime they want with impunity. It is all over folks and you lose!”

“How right you are! Both Democrats and Republicans continue their embarassing tirades against one another, always stirring the pot. Like the dumb ----- we are, we continue to fall prey to their political finger pointing and shouting matches while they play the blame game. All it does is serve as a distraction for the CONTROL of the lobbyists and back-room deals being put together in smoke filled rooms of CORRUPTION with political payoffs to buy their vote. We've had two major bills of 1,200 pages or so (stimulus and Waxman-Markey) that were completed in the early morning hours on the day they were voted on, but weren't read by our elected officials before voting. Where have the ethics gone? Where is the moral fiber of our country? Where is accountability? Where are the real patriots of this country who put the best interests of America ahead of their own political futures. And if you're a cheerleader on the sidelines spewing hatred against the opposing party, STOP IT. Focus your energy on stopping the corruption in government. Otherwise we are doomed. This outrage should make every American march on the capitol. It's time to clean house.”

“Oh! Yeah!, we need to bail out the auto companies.

Remember when the Republicans were chanting "Drill baby drill" Well in a way they were right only we don't have to drill offshore all we need to do is drill the auto manufacturers.

We loan them money and connect those loans to retooling and put rules into effect that cars cannot weigh more than 2,000 pounds and have to get over 50 MPG. We don't use strings but stout cables on these requirements. No compliance, no money.

We raise the tax on gas to maintain over $4.00 per gallon and use the money to rebuild our infrastructure i.e. improved roads and national high speed rail system.

Just think with smaller cars we only have to repaint the lines on the highways to increase the number of lanes. Just think how many cars we can park in the same space.

I know pie in the sky. Makes to much sense so it won't happen.”

“We need to save the auto companies but not to produce those giant behemoths that burn so much gas and take up so much of the road.

First thing that needs to be done is to raise the tax on gas so that it stays above $4.00 a gallon to force the auto companies and their idiot customers to buy economical small cars. If we do this and Detroit retools to build smaller cars we can also make freeway lanes narrower and make new lanes without making new freeways. There would be more room for parking, so on and so forth.

The money raised with gas tax could be used to build high speed trains on dedicated tracks going coast to coast along highways 10, 20, 40, 80, and north and south along side 5, 95 and through the middle of the country. This would provide jobs and ultimately stop our need to import oil.

If we only use our heads we can make an entire sane and prosperous nation.

If we let greed and self indulgents take over again it is back down tnto the sewer.

I have been through this before in the 70's and just as soon as the shortage disappeared so did the concern over conservation of resources.”

“ If we no longer have capacity to make or build a component we will have to retool and begin a new company to do so. It would not begin in one place but in every major city and work both directions from there so there would be hundreds of job sites across the nation. This project would create jobs and provide us with a system that would eliminate the need to import oil. These high speed trains would be powered with electricity which could be generated solely for the system with new nuclear plants situated throughout the system. It is time to cut off the balls of the oil men and build this without their help. We have been screwed for years so they could sell more cars and oil. We have to stand up against them and do what is right for America and Americans. We won’t have many more chances to do anything to save ourselves. I hate to put so much pressure on you Obama but you really are our last hope for our great country. I hate to give credit to a conservative but this is the plan that was talked about in ‘Atlas Shrugged’ by Ayn Rand when she wrote about Reardon steel. With a few minor changes it would work. “Open letter to Barack Obama campaign. I have a few suggestions that I would like to share with you. We have to invest in the infrastructure of America and one way I see that we can do that is start a completely new project that would put thousands of Americans to work across America and create a project that would help Americans and wean us off foreign oil. What I’m suggesting is a national high speed railroad with dedicated tracks with no crossings to cause accidents. It would not carry freight only passengers. This railroad would follow highways 10, 20, 40, 80, 5, 95 and so on and would connect with feeder line from large cities. It would be built with steel made only in America. It would be an American project entirely ‘made in the United States’.”
