To all those people I have "fanned" I appreciate your voice, and wish the very best to you this holiday season. I have to also say that to those I have disagreed with, I respect a common passion for current events, and the respect and dignity for all human beings.

“I celebrate this holiday as a time to be with my family and friends, and to show them how much I love an appreciate them.
I also appreciate people I have never met; the performer who makes mucic and gives a great show, or the off duty medic who comforts a dying woman, the traffic sign lady who welcomes children near my house in the cold morning and knows all the childrens names; I appreciate so many other people who sing or are un-sung.
Happy Holidays, all, to many here I have never met and yet have come to know.

As much as abhor the ignorant and hateful comments by Phelps, that is not the way to proceed.
I think I know where you are coming from, and understand the outrage, but in situations like this there is always the possiblity that an innocent child or children could be in that church.
I remember a fire bombing of a church where two little girls died, and so firebombing churches has a resonance for me which I cannot support.

“Yes the world will be safer if Heene's brief jail time convinces even one other lame brain not to try such a stupid stunt. Inappropriately tying up emergency responders is dangerous to the community at large. Period. 30 days in the hole with 60 days of work release time is an appropriate sentence in my view.”

Beyond the tabloid stories of a few given weight in the prior examples, the real harm of marriage in-equality which affects so many citizens real lives is the real story here.
I certainly hope for marriage equality in 2010, and I celebrated Mexico City's decision to treat its people fairly in this regard. That is part of the real story of marriage in 2009.

Well, as much as I was disturbed by this story, I do not think it is fair to taint all who are union members with that behavior.
I felt the story was so sad, that I wanted to remind that there a plenty of uplifting stories of people who come to the aid of others (and some of those people may belong to a union)
Either way, with Christmas so near, I want to think about human kindness and decency. So many of those stories are not reported.

I have to admit I find this story very distressing.
Now, Here is a more hopeful one:
Recently when a family member collapsed on the sidewalk, a number of older women came to her aid. They were just ordinary good women, senior citizens themselves, with no emergency training. I am so grateful to them.”
