“The U.S. government has created a region that has for the last fifty years been subservient to the US. Its many puppets and proctors have helped devastate lives and subjugate the people.

Fraud, coups, assassinations, destabilization, dictatorships and a state of perpetual wretchedness have been used by the U.S. government as tools to control Latin America.

Latin American nations have been made worse off since the inception of neo-liberal economic models forcefully imposed by the U.S. government. As a result, labor has been made cheaper for US corporations, translating into cheaper goods for its U.S. citizens.

Through the back-breaking slave labor, working conditions and wages of Latin Americans are exploited so that we in the rich north can consume to our hearts content.

Yet millions upon millions of workers in the south live in squalor, surviving day to day, living in feeble conditions and without the chance of ever improving their lives due to the non-existence of opportunity.

When NAFTA and other neo-liberal tools are put in place in countries like Mexico, only the elite benefit and profit.

Thus, today we see millions of undocumented workers living in the US. It is the U.S. govermnment's imposed economic models and trade mechanisms that have created the eruption of near slave labor in our nation. Is it any coincidence that mass migration north began after NAFTA was imposed on the region?”

another looker on Apr 7, 2013 at 08:22:44

“The mass migration north was associated with the stupidity of amnesty in 1986, and the fact that the enforcement of border security never happened due to no funding since that time period.”

“America was built and founded on ILLEGAL, an illegal invasion, genocide, theft of land, slavery deportations and incarceration of ethnic American citizens. To this day America continues to invade and ransack countries at whim, leaving the people of those countries to fend for themselves.

American propaganda hides the fact that, after Canada, Mexico is our largest source of foreign oil. For generations American big business has manipulated Mexican oil. It has done the same with all the other valuables exported from Mexico to the United States. American big business has long exploited Mexico. It used to do the same to Venezuela and to Cuba and to many other nations. To properly ransack a foreign country American big business needs puppet "presidents" who will play ball and do business on US terms. American big business can't be troubled with democracies were the people and the workers demand to be treated fairly and with respect. NAFTA and the Merida Initiative have been forced upon the people of Mexico by manipulating elections so corrupt elitist willing to ignore the people of Mexico are in power.”

“Mexico has always been a weak-minded place easily manipulated (see the Spanish, The French, The Germans), so why would want the weak-minded and morally-weak here?
It is a narco-state full of corruption, and that corruption seeps across the border with every individual.  Do we really want that here?”

“Why 'illegal immigrant' is a slur

When you label someone an "illegal alien" or "illegal immigrant" or just plain "illegal," you are effectively saying the individual, as opposed to the actions the person has taken, is unlawful. The terms imply the very existence of an unauthorized migrant in America is criminal.

In this country, there is still a presumption of innocence that requires a jury to convict someone of a crime. If you don't pay your taxes, are you an illegal? What if you get a speeding ticket? A murder conviction? No. You're still not an illegal. Even alleged terrorists and child molesters aren't labeled illegals.

By becoming judge, jury and executioner, you dehumanize the individual and generate animosity toward them. New York Times editorial writer Lawrence Downes says "illegal" is often "a code word for racial and ethnic hatred."

Migrant workers residing unlawfully in the U.S. are not -- and never have been -- criminals. They are subject to deportation, through a civil administrative procedure that differs from criminal prosecution, and where judges have wide discretion to allow certain foreign nationals to remain here.

Arizona Border Fence Causes Flood and Self-Destructs—as Predicted

Mother Earth has spoken. Amidst recent reports that detail just how harmful the United States border barrier is to local wildlife and their habitats, rainwater knocked down 40 feet of the fence in Arizona last Sunday night.

The stretch of fence that washed away was part of a 5.2 mile mesh barrier that was built between 2007 and 2008. Though it is the first time this particular fencing has fallen, it came as no surprise to officials at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, where the fence is located. When Organ Pipe expressed their concern with the proposed design for the barricade before its completion, Border Patrol unsurprisingly issued a final environmental assessment that said they found that it would have no significant impact. They added that, despite the claims of Organ Pipe officials, it would not cause flooding. They were wrong.

“You are only one of millions here and in Mexico, including myself who thinks NAFTA should be scrapped or changed. Politicians wont hear of it, because they work for U.S.big corporate businesses in Mexico sucking that country dry ultimately causing illegal immigration by Mexicans looking for a way to feed their families.

A major milestone in the U.S. quest to further exploit Mexico and her people was the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) of 1994.

Current estimates indicate that since the passage of NAFTA wages have decreased by 30 percent while the cost of living in Mexico has increased by 250 percent. Rather than improving the lives of Mexican workers, most of the new wealth created by NAFTA has flowed to the North as superprofits for American capitalism.

Today their Euroanchors are reaping the benefits of living on stolen land and using resources that belong to Native Americans.”

They drank the whiskey till their livers died or they slept in disease infested blankets and either way they couldn't stand up to the gun because they were not a single nation together. Nothing here belongs to them. It all belongs to the winners, and the winners get to set up the rules of the game. In this case, the winners have defined what a legal immigrant is (like myself and my family who followed all of the rules) and what illegal aliens are.”

“quote:
The word "immigrant" has nothing at all to do with legal status. It means, simply, to move from one place to another for the purpose of settling down. Papers, no papers -- it's all irrelevant to the act of migrating.

The claim can be dispatched easily enough with a little elementary etymology. The word "migration" first appears in the English language in reference to humans in 1611, some 37 years before the modern nation state, with its discrete borders, came into existence. The Latin root of the verb "to immigrate," immigrare, predates that by more than a thousand years. Human migration is a phenomenon that dates back to before homo sapiens even existed -- pre-modern humans migrated wily-nilly. So, clearly, the word "immigrant" has nothing whatsoever to do with one's paperwork being in order; its roots predate the existence of contemporary legal systems.

From an article HP will not post the link to again, you can google it though.
