I think the long-term effects of killing Egypt's pigs largely remains to be felt, both by the Coptic communities that benefited from income generated by the pigs, and by the tone of Muslim/Christian relations in Egypt. Although Muslim/Christian tensions sometimes run high, I have been surprised by the level of integration, even to the level of marriages between Copts and Muslims, (although this is rare).”
