“And am I to assume you don't have a mentally ill child? Walk the walk....”
Terry McAuliffe's Achilles Heel was not the Clintons

“This sums up exactly why, in my humble opinion, Hillary Clinton did so poorly in Iowa. Her campaign staff, including McAuliffe, was rude, arrogant and condescending. McAuliffe visited my town in NE Iowa and was insulting to every one of us in attendance, especially the multitude of Obama supporters.
Iowans (and others in the Heartland), like Southerners, are just as this article describes. We're politically well-informed and have very good BS detectors. McAuliffe is dead in the water as far as political aspirations because he couldn't and never will be able to connect with us.”

“You also have a backwards caucus system. Seriously, it's 2009, not 1809. Grow up and get a primary.”
Obama to New Orleans: Drop Dead?
Commented May 18, 2009 at 23:06:53 in Politics
“And what about Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and other cities in Iowa that were decimated in flodding last May? The disaster here was of the same magnitude as what hit New Orleans and there's been little media coverage and very or non-existent Federal aid?”

“I am unfamiliar with the extent of the flooding, but Katrina wiped out a city and a lot of it is still wiped out.

“These anti-abortion Catholics that the Church demands a respect for life "from birth to natural death". So where's the outrage and protest over the death penalty, torture, etc? Seems their very selective in what life they honor.”

“Susan Boyle may be a very nice woman and she has an pretty voice, but she's not that great. What's really sad is that she's getting all this publicity because she's a somewhat unattractive woman that the judges thought would sing like a frog. If she had been pretty, no one would have cared. What's even more sad is that if she had sung terribly, they all would have made fun of her.”

“If she had been pretty she would have had a record deal 20 years ago.”
New York Gay Marriage: How It'll Strengthen Heterosexual Marriages

“Iowa got it right twice. First, we launched Barack Obama's road to winning the White House and now this victory for the Gay community.”

“Once again, Thank You Iowa! On both fronts you are putting the "heart" in heartland. I'm from California and we're having real trouble out here figuring out how to do what's right. It's a shame.”

“A thousands thank-yous for writing this! Adoption is a beautiful thing...I speak as an adult adoptee.
I have one beef with the media - that they refer to someone's child as their "adopted child". Last time I checked, a once a child is legally adopted it is the parent's Child, legally and emotionally. The adoptive parents become the Parents. To make the distinction is to think of the adopted child as somehow different or not as good.”

“Don't get me started on that - as an adopted child I am always absolutely FURIOUS when they do that - it does make a completely unnecessary distinction...”

“I can believe that! There must be lots of thinking people in Iowa - they're backing Obama by a substantial margin!”
