“I think your confusing love, with "right and wrong"”
Frickett on Jun 3, 2013 at 14:33:22
“Your biblical conception of right and wrong is not shared by everyone and in any case has no place in public policy. Limit it to your own behavior and everything is fine. You have not the right to impose your personal version of morality on anyone else.”
hollowdream322 on Jun 3, 2013 at 14:01:28
“okay, define right and wrong? Is it not right to accept those around you and try to be the best person you can? Is it not wrong to bash someone down because you do not agree? There are many people who do not agree with other's religions and that is their right as it is your right to not be able to accept someone, although this is your right it does not mean what someone is doing is wrong. This just simple means that you were brought up in a way that made you believe this. However I am in the generation that has seen hatred and has seen growth, as a society I am happy to see that are youth as learned from history and is able to see that putting down someone because of their sexual orientation is exactly the same as putting down someone for their skin color. You cannot choose who you are, no what body you are given, God as made us all and therefore he must see something in us that would make it possible for us to be able to fall in love with anyone. I do hope that are youth continues to grow maybe history wont repeat itself...”

“This is the same as when people fought against interracial marriage.
Blacks marrying whites?! No, it's against all moral code. It's against our religion. It's against what is normal. Keep whites with whites and blacks with blacks. Asian and latino? No way.
You see how ridiculous that sounds? How it's NORMAL it is to see interracial couples walking down the streets now adays? It wasn't always like that.
Get with the program. Love is love. Homosexual love is no different that interracial love or from heterosexual love.”
BlueLily216 on Jun 3, 2013 at 13:43:40
“I didn't know there was such a thing? I'd also like to point out the many, many things the Bible speaks of substantially more than homosexuality- like bacon and beards.”
68Namvet on Jun 3, 2013 at 13:43:12
“Nope, no confusion here, save yours. Has nothing to do with "right or wrong" - it simply is, your beliefs notwithstanding.”
WHLorentz on Jun 3, 2013 at 13:40:36
“Sure, love is right and hate is wrong, or doesn't your religion teach that?”
“What this article claims about 600 deaths a year because of pregnancy is very misleading. Women who die while pregnant don't die because of pregnancy, but because of other underlying health issues. This child should still have the chance at life. Even with health issues. Who are we to judge weather his or her life is not worth living. Hitler also felt like certain humans being were "less than." No abortion, ever. EVER. May God have mercy on the souls of you who think otherwise. As a mother of 5, I would never pick my own life over my child's. EVER”
almedoz on Jun 3, 2013 at 09:33:12
“I am one of those women who would not survive if I became pregnant again, since I my aorta dissected at 37 weeks the first time around.
I pick giving my living daughter a mother, rather than sacrificing my life for a spoonful of cells. If that makes me Hitler-like in your eyes, I don't give a tinker's toot.”

“Did you not read the article? The fetus will never have a functioning brain. If it's not even sentient is it really life?”

“1) Pre-eclampsia is an entirely pregnancy related life-threatening condition that can only be stopped by removal of the placenta.
2) The "child" has no brain. There is no chance of survival. At all. Nada.
3) Godwin's Law!”

“Did you miss this part in your reading?: ". . . with an anencephalic fetus that is missing most of its brain. . . her doctors determined early on that neither she nor the fetus were likely to survive childbirth."
Who are you to condemn the mother to death? Who are you to determine what is good for others? What a self-righteous comment. You are certainly free to choose what course your life takes, and the choices made in that life, don't you dare presume to make that judgement for others.”
leap29d on May 31, 2013 at 16:49:33
Your uterus, your choice.
Conversely, if it's not your uterus, it is not your choice. You have no right or authority to enforce your beliefs on anyone else.”

“The baby had anencephaly - that means NO BRAIN... oh wait, nevermind people who don't USE their brain see no problem with not having one.”
bklynsparrow on May 31, 2013 at 16:46:19
“Fine- and if the fetus you are carrying will kill you and you are leaving 5 children? Great you have 5 kids but that's your decision. You had a right to make it for yourself and so does everyone else. However, to say that women who die while pregnant die from underlying causes is to be so medically ignorant that it's frightening. Ever hear of eclampsia? That's only one. And the other issue is that many of those underlying causes would not be life threatening- except when pregnancy makes them so. You may have well said you aren't blind- it's just that your eye can't see. ”
leskataus on May 31, 2013 at 16:45:03
“So you would prefer having children be left motherless?”
“Actually, man created 2,500 named gods, all with their own respective mythologies and legends. And you're free to believe whatever you want, but you'd better believe you can't impose your religious doctrine in the public sphere. That happens to violate the 1st and 14th amendments. So you can't do it.”
“You haven't read your Bible recently if you think that a man and a woman is Biblical marriage. Read Deuteronomy sometime. You left out a lot of examples... a man and many wives, a soldier and any virgins he captures in battle, and other examples too unspeakable to list here.”
“What a tragic day. that poor child and his family and the driver who didn't see him. it sounds like a freak accident. prayers to that family and schoolmates. but with death, a new life in heaven is started. may his family find peace”
“a baby with down syndrome, and other defects don't harm the mother. so you don't think that these childrena should ever get a chance to live? it is sad that a mother would kill her child to maintain her lifestyle. you must not have children, nor were ever a baby in your mothers womb????”
icstars on Mar 15, 2013 at 17:24:43
“"other defects don't harm the mother"
Yes they can. Why don't you learn something from real life instead of preaching how you want everyone else to live their lives?
I'm sorry you think a clump of cells trumps YOUR rights. You are a woman, right? You think the government should pass laws that tell you what you can do with your body--you aren't capable of doing that for yourself?”

“Women die from complications of pregnancy all the time.”
“I believe the money you spend says "In God We Trust" He is everywhere whether you like it or not... choose to not believe, He gave you free will to do so. Do you believe in love??? You can't see it, or touch it, but it's there? Do you believe space goes on for forever????? You've never been there, but you believe it???? If you choose not to believe in something, then I guess you can consider it in your imagination.”
I do, however, feel a certain sne.ering con.tempt for anyone dum.b enough to consider atheism a "religion" or the holiday season "only for christians" or the uneducated campfire ramblings of a bunch of Bronze Age M.idd.le East.ern goat herders as somehow literally true and relevant to our lives today (the same way, say, Hercules would be), defying all natural laws, civilized progress, and scientific findings of 2000 years of history ... especially when they're constantly in people's faces with their ha.nd-wring.ing judgmental Bronze Age "morality."”
As a believer in imaginary things, there a lot of things you won't get and won't make sense to you.”
Lucy T on Dec 22, 2012 at 12:33:42
“get over yourself.
There's nothing "religious" or even "spiritual'" about exchanging gifts--every civilization since the dawn of humans has had some form of "potlatch." And "the holidays" are much MUCH more than your xmas eve candlelight service and reenactments of MYTHS. You're in the mall like everybody else outside of that, so big deal with "your" holiday.

“Go Melissa...so she can choose to have an abortion, but she's not allowed in Hollywood to choose to vote republican?? So she is free to murder and unborn baby, but not free to vote for someone who could get this economy back on track....Obama made the middle class dependent on the government for handouts.......so they need to vote him in to keep the handouts coming.”
Logan Dempsey on Nov 10, 2012 at 05:26:21
“Your comment is beyond ridiculous; last time I checked a zygote/embryo/fetus wasn't considered a baby, so your little murder accusation bears no weight. How was Romney supposed to get this economy back on track when his policies (the same as Bush's) were the same ones that got us in this dump in the first place; that's like trying to put out a flame with gasoline.
The middle class isn't dependent on the government for handouts; there are people who abuse the system, but there are also people who are actually trying to get their lives back on track and need a little help along the way. And there's nothing wrong with that; everyone needs a little help at some point in their life. No one, and I mean, NO ONE is completely self-sufficient.
And although you may be a Fox News zombie, please don't drone on about how Obama is a socialist and how he's trying to damn this nation with his awful socialism. The government has always possessed socialist policies, regardless of who was in the Oval Office. Socialism is a part of our every day lives, that is unless you drive down private roads, send your kids to private schools, always go to private hospitals, call some private police/fire station whenever something's wrong.
Your ignorance is appalling, if not entirely typical, of the uninformed/misinformed American who, even with the myriad of ways to garner information, has chosen to live in the dark.”
“great these babies have a place to go...but maybe people shouldn't have sex if they don't want a child to result from it. are human beings really incapable of understanding that babies are a result from sex??? if you don't want a baby, don't have sex. why is that hard to understand. save it until you are ready for a child. casual sex leads to abortions and unwanted pregnancies.”
jackjmass on Nov 1, 2012 at 11:33:49
“"These babies have a place to go?" What are you saying? No, these babies now have a no-questions-asked place where they can be as casually dropped off as one would drop off old clothes and other castoffs. Just like those free-standing metal containers one finds in the parking lots of supermarkets, just because an uncaring mother can't be bothered with her newborn. That cold-hearted and selfish decision usually come back to haunt the mother in thousand of ways ways throughout her lifetime. Just like the abortions Obama and Planned Parenthood sanction. No difference at all.”

“People will always have sex. How about the pill or condoms?”
“Not true. the pill prevents the egg from implanting in the lining. Conception takes place in the fallopian tube, releasing hormones, and cell division begins while the baby travels through the tube, and implants in the uterus. Once it implants, HCG levels begin to rise. The pill prevents the fertilized egg from implanting. Please get your facts straight.”
AW9 on Sep 23, 2012 at 19:50:55
“I've read some more. Scientists aren't sure how it works. It either works by stopping the ovulation process, stopping the fertilization of the egg, or by preventing implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterine wall. The Mayo clinic says that new evidence strongly suggests that the morning after pill does NOT work by preventing implantation, so it more than likely works by preventing ovulation or by prevention fertilization of the egg. I would suggest that you do some further reading, too.”
AW9 on Sep 23, 2012 at 19:35:11
“I did. I looked it up and read about it before I replied. Maybe there are 2 different kinds because what I read said that it prevented the egg from being released.”
C Waltz on Sep 22, 2012 at 00:06:02
“The hormone used in the morning after pill is the same hormone used in birth control.
Are you saying that birth control should be outlawed since it technically ALSO prevents the implantion of an egg by tricking the body into believing you are already pregnant?”
