TIME: Peacemaking In The Middle East: Obama's Year Of Missteps

“I don't like reading about Obama anymore. He has been a terrible, terrible, disappointment. It seems like his agenda was to tell progressives and other americans what he was going to do during his campaign and then once elected he shifted to the right and sold out to the private sector. It's like the guy has been doing things that are the antithesis of what he campaigned on and then saying April fool since he got elected. It is nothing more than treachery. I have no use for a person like that, even a politician. I have come to the conclusion that the most God awful people on this planet are lawyers and politicians. It seems they have been chosen by the fates to be the liars of mankind.”

Peace On Earth

Commented Jan 02, 2010 at 00:45:03 in Politics

“Yea, some time in the future there will be peace on earth when man finally completes his journey and becomes extinct. It will happen, in fact, is more likely to happen than not, and then there will be peace on earth and nature can then start over again, and hopefully, perchance, maybe even evolve into something better than we humans are or ever could be.. Evolution tries its different paths. Unfortunately humans evolved with phenotypic traits not up to the task of peaceful existence on earth and not up to the task of protecting an environment that the creator blessed us with.”

“To the republicans our country is the greatest in the world, American exceptionalism indeed. They live in the delusion of this memory. Judged by an objective observer, however, it is a nation in decline, destroyed by greed and corruption in government, nothing more. Actually, it was destroyed mostly by the Republicans and their pro business, deregulation philosophy. Our government is destroying our country because the politicians who run it are too weak to make the required changes. Our politicians are legends in their own mind and crap in everyone else's mind. When you see big problems and refuse to do anything about it, you fail. And that is what is happening in this country.”

The New Decade: Billionaire Bailouts or Progressive Resurgence?

Commented Dec 29, 2009 at 13:39:13 in Business

“The only way out of this frustrating, humiliating debacle is for Americans to quickly vote out anyone who doesn't do what his or her supporters want. For example, Obama's recent betrayal of the "change" he campaigned on and what all his progressive supporters expected is a disgrace.. If we respond by causing a person like Obama to loose re-election because of his betrayal of campaign promises I bet you all my next paychecks that politicians will never do that again. Let's face it progressives out there, Obama played us for fools. He campaigned on a progressive platform to win votes and then did a disgraceful chamelion act as soon as he was elected to office and became a centrist, a corporatist, just another politician pandering to special interests. I seriously ask you all this, do you want to win back your country, claim your rightful share of the country's wealth , even bring huge unethical corporations who have rigged the system to their knees. How would you like that power ?? All it takes is a sense of purpose and some time. Vote out those politicians who promise but don't deliver. You may have to suffer a bit and unfortunately have republicans gain control for a while. But after you show your will and voting power a couple of times, the party for these congressional gangsters and their corporate overlords is over. There are only two ways to do it - the way I just described, or a full scale”

Doubledoot replied on Dec 30, 2009 at 00:13:03

“To do as you suggest no matter how noble would mean that there would never be anyone in office. You must realize by now no matter how saintly anyone may be that we have a system of corruption that could even bring down Jesus ! It's all corrupt and rotten to the core. Maybe the first problem is that most elected officials are lawyers. It just snowballs from there. What we have is not what the founding fathers intended and it's time for a Jeffersonian revolution to clear the waters. The premis this country was founded upon was one of reasonable men who would come to the optimum agreement for the betterment of the country as a whole. That is no longer the vision. No the vision is get rich as quick as you can , cut everyones throat on the way up and to hell w/ everyone else. They need these lobbyists and special interests groups to support them in what they do. No one seems to understand that politicians are no longer your friends : once elected you become the enemy to be kept at bay ! Of course they will tell you anything you want to hear to get in!”

Obama showed then that he is a corporatist/elitist to the core. I wrote many, many letters to my elected representatives about this miscarriage of justice. Nobody listened. It's time to oust them all.”

The Killers Among Us (And Other Weak Arguments for the Senate Health Bill)

Commented Dec 25, 2009 at 18:57:16 in Politics

“I'm very disappointed in the Senate Bill. It was born of corruption and didn't reflect what the majority of Americans wanted. The Senate is a dysfunctional body and one of the reasons for the decline in this country. The Democrattic party, despite their large majority in Congress is weak, and contains a cancer within, in the form of so called democrats who pander to corporate America. That used to be the style only of the Republicans but the cancer has apparently spread and eventually, some day, will be fatal because of its malignant effects on our society. It was a century long struggle, but it shouldn't have been. They finally did something about it 9 a butcher job) because they had no choice. Very disappointing.”

Its sad for this country, and not a single person in congress ever gets outraged enough about this to give it at least more publicity. You get the government you deserve. That is the sad truth.”

“This is total nonsense. The public option is important in terms of providing competition for insurance companies. Why do you think the insurance companies are so happy with the Senate version of the bill. They were cheering - we won, we won ! So don't listen to authors like this who mislead you. When insurance companies have to accept all these high risk people what do you think they will do. Raise the price of course for all people now insured. The senate bill was devised by weaklings who easily gave in to jokers like Lieberman. and the president himself was the worst offender of all. . The bill itself was born of corruption and bribery with lobbyists all running all over Washington with lots of money to spend. I don't know whether the final bill will allow federal funding of abortions but the Senate bill is literally an abortion itself. The majority of Americans wanted the public option but Congress ignored them because some democrats are corrupt. We should make democrats pay for this fiasco if it is not corrected. Remember, all these people have lots of power. You only have your vote. Use it wisely otherwise you will be victimized by these jokers, now and in the future. Send these people a lesson they will never forget”

"I don't know whether the final bill will allow federal funding of abortions but the Senate bill is literally an abortion itself. "

The new far left progressive teabaggers are complaining about a bill of which they have no clue of its final outcome.

Traditionally, Americans are a scrappy bunch willing to mix it up with the competition. But not Obama. Maybe that is what motivates the crazy birthers. His personality is alien. I'm sorry, but I just can't support a man who says one thing during the campaign but then follows a different philosophy once elected. I call that treachery - pulling off a scheme on the people who got you elected. In Obama's case it was a scheme of Maddofian proportions, all too clearly advertised in the media. “Cmon, Obama sold us down the river on this health care bill. When Lieberman says there was no pressure from Obama or even discussion about his not supporting the public option or medicaid buy in this is a serious red flag tat the president did not fight for these things. This healthcare bill could have been much better and it is weak because the president just wanted to pass a bill without fighting for what the electorate wanted. He gave Insurance Companies and Pharmaceutical industry all they wanted. I don't think this guy has the stomach to oppose powerful companies. He doesent like conflict. He doesn't stand up for his convictions. In other words he is a sort of whimp. I don't like slick shifty politicians with no spine and I seriously question the ethics of the people around Obama if not Obama himself.
