“Everything you say is correct :) One detail that is interesting is that none of the scientists involved in the dating picked up on this big mistake. It was an average Joe who happens to be a religious man (and his wife) who did a lot of digging and research and after much effort finally convinced experts to listen to them.

“Thanks for the measured and well-written response. My greatest fear in the matter is that we will never be able to get people to come to a consensus that all people should be treated fairly.

It seems so simple to me. Marriage is a religious rite. State government should NOT interfere in religion. Renaming the license as domestic commitment or some other neutral tern would effectively release the state from their intrusion into religion .

Birth certificates are the same as certificates of live birth. Why should a certificate for two people to live together for economic stability and right -to-choose options be any different.

The legislature could then enact a law recognizing all of the prior licenses, and their commitments, as valid.”

My issue is that I am just surprised that 10 year old can have the maturity to understand what marriage is, what the gay/lesbian issues are to be able to make a stand like that.
