Wall Street Journal/NBC News Poll: Voters Torn Between Democrats, Republicans in 2010

“We deserve whatever happens in 2010. As wrong and hateful as the Republicans are - they are organized and they know how to get attention.”

“Agreed.
Democrats' fall started with Obama's passion for so-called bipartisanship. From the get-go GOPers wanted Obama to fail. Yet, our president kept offering olive branches to these people who does not want anything to do with him. In the process he and/or congressional Dems diluted every major major legislative agenda to the point of near worthlessness. Look at the Stimulus Package - it has hardly any money for infrastructure spending like rebuilding roads, bridges, highways etc, that creates jobs. Imagine if the entire or most of the $787 billion was set for infrastructure spending, how many jobs would have been created. Then look at the Health Care Reform. Dems are blackmailed by an untrustworthy back-stabber Joe Lieberman. The president who basically rewarded Joe with a commitee charimanship against majority Dems wishes, now would not use his leverage on him. Better to be done with Reconciliation than worthless reform. The president and Dems just need to stand and deliver on the campaign promises. If you loose your base, you will be sinking. Literally and figuratively.”

repearwo replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 16:21:11
“Yes, and for a reason. It is not ideological it is practical. Insurance Companies and Pharmaceutical Companies have lots of cash to throw around. If they use that money against health care we will never have it. The long term idea is to get health care as given then trim down the Big Money Guys.
Greenwald lives in an ideal fantasy world and refuses to deal with realities, like the ones with the money have more power than the ones that don't. So it is better to get some of what you want rather than none.
Time to grow up and deal with the real world.
