"The Politician": John Edwards Book By Andrew Young Details Revealed
Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 13:09:34 in Books
“I was a fan of Edwards until the Vice Presidential debates. I was surprised to find that he knew less about the issues of the day than I had learned just by watching the news and reading blogs. How hard should it have been to make Cheney look bad? Ever since then, he's seemed to be a phoney to me.”
Roses replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 13:25:33
“He didn't seem to be ignorant of the issues. You could read his position statements and speeches and see that he was not.
He did seem a little scared in that debate.
He seemed to be cowed by the office of the V.P. and Cheney's deprecating speaking style to Edwards. He also didn't have his usual fawning admirers around him and that seemed to flummox him.
All in all, his claim of being a fighting advocate for progressive causes seemed to dim for me then.”

“Yes, based on his reputation as a lawyer I thought he would expose Cheney as the Machiavellian he is, but I feel Cheney really got the best of him after Cheney stated that Halliburton had not broken any laws or something to that effect. Edwards did not even pin him down on his support for the racist South African regime, after Cheney accused the ANC of being communist. Who cares what label the ANC was given, supporting apartheid was inexcusable.”

However, since he doesn't have that wealth, she's not saying any of that stuff, mainly because she is richer than him and she doesn't want him to have any ownership rights to her house and money.”

“When you read the article you realize that this is yet another headline that does not match the story. Aetna is not dropping anyone to increase profits. They are putting their prices up, and an effect of that is that some people will no longer be able to afford their policies. I'm sure this happens every year. That's one of the reasons for people losing their healthcare.”

She pays $1400 per month and still has a high deductable that has to be met every year. She is so scared to stop paying that she has almost lost everything. That is how they get rid of people is by raising the premiums multiple times a year. They don't tell you they won't cover you, just raise it until you can no longer pay.”

That would be incest ... it may have been just fine & dandy for the brothers & sisters of Adam & Eve ... but this is a good example why we need SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE.
"Why not multiple wives or husbands?"
Problem with that scenerio is that ONLY ONE of the wives or husbands would qualify for "government-run socialist" spousal benefits. And there are enough BATTLES of the SEXES between ONE-man & ONE-woman marriages to last a lifetime!
Now ... would you like to ask why a priest (I mean adult) can't marry a child? ...”

Rumsfeld's one talent was in browbeating the generals into only reqeusting what they knew Rummy would agree to so that he could claim that he was only doing what the generals asked.
So Rummy may be right that there were no requests for more troops in Afghanistan while he was SOD. But thats only because he had already gotten rid of anyone who would dare ask for more troops.”

Let's see, the national debt was around 5 or 6 trillion (and on its way down) when Bush took office and is around 10 trillion now. I know facts have a liberal bias, but that's about double. Since Obama took office, the debt has increased by a few percent. Now it may very well double again under Obama's watch, but even if McCain had won, there is not much he could have done to change that. At least when Obama wants to increase health coverage, he has a plan to pay for it. That's more than the Repubs did when they created the prescription drug benifit for medicare.”
