“I'd love to know what Boehner's children and grandchildren will think about his position in, say, fifty years? Thanks, dad, for helping big oil ruin the environment for the entire world. Our air is full of carbon pollution, our seas are becoming so acidic that sea life is collapsing, and our land is increasingly being polluted by oil spills. Who, Mr Boehner, thinks this is a good idea, and we should do nothing about it?”
“People "dislike and distrust" atheists. Gack! Atheists follow logic and reasoning, and acting like a sociopathic jerk is not a logical way to behave in society if you want to get ahead in life. If you're an adult who doesn't know thievery and lying, etc., are wrong, there's something fundamentally wrong with your brain. Just because someone doesn't take a two thousand year old book as a lifestyle guide doesn't make them evil. We need more politicians who think for themselves and don't waste time genuflecting to a non-existent deity. American: freedom FROM religion.”
“And how is a fighter plane going to help an embassy? You need someone on the ground at the embassy in a defensive posture, or a lot of innocent bystanders are going to get hurt. Are you going to drop bombs in a city, or strafe the crowds with bullets? The international blowback would be incredible.”
“The Republicans are so corrupt, they can't imagine that the Obama administration doesn't operate the same way they would. They would use Benghazi as a political club, so they assume Obama would too. Their assumption appears to be false.”
“Like everyone else in Washington, they've become political. It's not about rendering justice anymore, it's about packing the court with your side (left or right) and pushing through a political agenda. The Supreme Court has become a joke. Money = Free Speech would be funny, if it weren't so corrosive to our political system.”
“How do the Republicans plan on moving forward with women when the women they put forward don't know why they need to be put forward? Of course, getting brain-dead women to spout orthodox Republican dogma probably won't make up for a lack of any actual ideas regarding women's issues.”
“Given that she shouldn't have been there in the first place, conflating religion and politics, good for her for walking out. Glad she represents my state of CA. The "abortion president!" Give me a break!”
“Weather and climate are two different things. And global "warming" puts more energy into the environment (warmth is only one form of energy)--that energy can be used to make any weather extreme, from cold to heat, rain to drought, tornados to hurricanes. It should be called "global energizing," then perhaps you would understand it better.”
“I recently got a tirade from my doctor about the coming ACA death panels which would not allow insurance to cover me if I'm not deemed economically worth enough by said panel. I have a new doctor now.”

“Good for you for finding another doctor. Apparently a lot of doctors got a letter from some rightwing physician's group repeating all those lies about the ACA, and many simply believed the lies.
I've heard several older people say their doctor told them there'd be death panels and they wouldn't be allowed any medical care after Jan. of 2014. I have an elderly neighbor who was actually harming her health because she was so sure she was about to be denied all care.
I didn't know whether her doctor would actually have told her that (although I didn't think of her as someone who would lie), but I did wonder if she was quoting the "doctor" in the lying chain e-mail that went around telling very comprehensively about the "formula" that assigned points for each of your medical conditions, added that to your age, and if your points reached a certain number, meant you'd be denied all care from then on.
Other e-mails said if you were 70 or older, you'd be denied care. The good news is I've stopped hearing about death panels, even from those who believed that most fervently. Too bad learning that they'd been lied to about death panels didn't make them reconsider all the other lies they were told and still believe.”
“If women need to earn less to get a good husband, then what about once they are married? Do married women deserve equal pay? What about women who don't want to be married? If you are getting a divorce, should you ask for a pay cut? Do these people even think about what they are saying out loud?”

“Women shouldn't work outside the home. Their major purpose is to bear children, prepare meals and clean house. If a woman is ugly and can't find a mate she can life a simple life as a spinster school marm, and live in a unheated shack behind the school and use the girl's outhouse. See what teacher's unions have brought us: women being educated, driving cars, owning homes, wearing pants and lesbians.”
“"They don’t want the decisions made in Washington. They want to be able to have the power and the control and the ability to make those decisions for themselves."
How does that fit with their views on reproductive rights? What kind of woman serves as a spokesperson for the Republicans? And do Republicans think that just hearing the same garbage come from a woman's mouth is going to make their ideas more palatable? They just want to deregulate until we are all, men and women, under the heel of corporate greed.”
