Mary Matalin: Bush 'Inherited' 9/11 Attacks (VIDEO)
Commented Dec 28, 2009 at 14:24:29 in Politics
“Sounds like both of us as adults go back to the Nixon era. I have some memory of Johnson, but was too young to vote. Based on your logic the Vietnam War was inherited because we were allies with the French. A plausible case can be made for anything. During the 70’s we had Carlos running amuck in Europe who’s fault was that? Why did he not come across the ocean? According to the master mind himself, it was our cavalier attitude (GB senior) who put bases in places they did not belong (Saudi Arabia) that started this mess. We did not inherit anything we brought it upon ourselves”

“Yes, they were inherited in the same sense.
Clinton had lobbed a few missiles into empty camps in Afghanistan--empty because enough warning had been leaked to let the terrorists flee. Iraq was a problem because Bush's father had not completed the job in the 1990s, among other reasons.
Reagan had been uncharacte ristically wimpy in pulling out of Lebanon, encouraging the jihadists.
Carter had not supported the Shah of Iran, thus allowing the Mad Mullahs to gain power and that problem festers and grows till the present day.
Indeed, all presidents "inherit" the problems and benefit from the successes of former presidents.
Obama could have benefitted from the anti-terrorist success of GWB but has chosen instead to fritter it away. They are growing bolder and more attacks are coming.”

“Right. And you know what?
This president not only refused a lot of lobbyist's money and got a lot of money from individual voters, he's also the first in more than twenty years to be able to break the resistence of lobbyists to health care reform.
Today, hundreds of thousands will survive instead of dying thanks to the hard work of this president. To me, that is change I can believe in!
The last decades, more than 50.000 Americans a year, 144 EACH DAY, DIE only because they don't have health care, and this happened in the greatest democracy in the world. This totally scandalous situation will finally STOP.”

“And what would she, or anyone else do, when dealing with the duplicitous Iran. Get a grip.
The ball is in Irans court, they know it and they want to take their nation on a collision course with America... I don't know how true this is: They are claiming development of stealth aircraft.. .and as we now know, they have a better medium range missile.
Being cautious is a good trait to have. But when dealing with a nation that wants to be nuclear, and has shown no interest in being part of the rest of the world, then, its best to err on the side of caution.
I would take Iran's threats very seriously.
Iraq was a bogus, pretext of a war. I think its becoming clearer as to why the pretext was used.
Iran is a threat to millions of people, and that includes Palestinians, not just Israelites.”
