“Racial profiling is ok? I'm sorry but white ppl historically in all parts of the world have committed plenty of crimes against whole countries and other races and their own race. “Sad. Idk even at my job as a cashier if I see my coworker getting slammed with a long line in a diff store than my own while I'm on break, I still go help out. I get stopped by guest before I'm on the clock (sometimes before I'm in the building) to answer questions or help them do something and even tho it aggravates me I still do it. The difference is none of my situations have been life or death situations. This is ridiculous beyond belief and I can't see how they would just walk away.”

“And no one in your family learned how to speak english in their own lives even though they were born in america? Funny how only spanish speaking ppl can get away with that. Everyone else like asians and africans, middle easterners learn to speak english well enough to get them around but then they have to learn spanish too to communicate with ppl who refuse to learn english even though they were born in america. I worked with a lot of middle easterners at macys and a lot of spanish speaking ppl would come in and ask them to speak spanish. Just funny how none of my coworkers were born here yet took it upon themslves to learn english but other folks are so selfish that they want them to learn their language too just so they won't have to learn english.”

If you want to keep your native language at home, by all means, do so. It's to anybody's credit to have a mastery of more than one language. I did not, however, at any time, note that "nobody" in my family spoke English. I said my Grandmother never did. She also never associated with "gringos" and had no reason to learn. My Grandfather, who did have to, spoke English, Spanish and Southern Ute. (The reservation was close by.) The rest of my family spoke English outside the home, Spanish inside the home. My point was that, perhaps, this woman was just getting out in the world and just now having to learn Spanish. We don't know her situation.
