I loved this line, "Remember: we cannot stop the wind but we can adjust our sails." It makes me remember not to worry about what I think should be or what might have happened but didn't and just work on what is really there. It's like the old adage, "It's not the lions and tigers that get you, it's the mosquitos."

Perhaps I associate with a different crowd, but I'm blind to the fame and fortune seekers. Both of my sons and their friends want to live simple lives with families and friends. I'm referring to college students and some who are in the work force. I guess we're just lucky.

How We Unplug & Recharge

I'm a recent devotee to meditation and already feel it's benefits in helping unplug or as I prefer chill. I assume that as I practice,I'll get to know myself better and that will minimize unnecessary anxiety. I've already learned that worrying is a silly waste of time and have cut way back on that. But when I'm letting myself get too caught up and meditation is just too difficult, I pick up a guitar. Playing through a blues key with some improvisation and some familiar riffs and just deciding where the music will go as I'm palying totally relaxes me. Bend the string the exact amount to attain the flow, sound and pitch is like heaven. I enjoyed reading all of the writers comments. This was a wonderful idea.

If I adhere to the advice, I must ignore it. I guess that's why they say, "there are no absolutes" and "everything is relative"
I consider myself spiritual. I know life exists, I live it and see others doing the same. I know that love exists, I do things for others because I love them and care about their well-being. I'm curious about the how and why of these self-evident truths. I just don't try to explain them because I'm just guessing the same as everyone with "The Answer". I'll just keep practicing and learning things that have practical use.

Sometimes I get the "I never really looked at it that way" feeling and other times it's like "well of course, everyone knows that."
