“Since their kids weren't damaged (with remarkably few exceptions) by vaccines, I wouldn't cut them any slack in opposing their efforts to endanger the safety and welfare of others.

They're dangerous and should be treated in the way that lessens the damage they do to society.

For every few thousand people they convince to not get vaccinated against H1N1 flu and do get infected, one will die.

Perhaps someone like Ashlie Pipkin who if we could turn back the clock and vaccinate would be alive today.

The official cause of death for Ashlie Pipkin, 11, is pneumonia, according to Harvey Bullock. The H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as swine flu, was the underlying factor.

Ashlie played in a softball tournament Sept. 19-20 and began suffering from flu-like symptoms on Sept. 21, according to family members. She was diagnosed with pneumonia on Sept. 22 at Toumey Regional Medical Center in Sumter, and she died en route to Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia on Sept. 23.

“I would say that causation and correlation are very, very different. Autism develops at the same age in children who have had vaccinations withheld.

The article did not appear in a peer reviewed journal and no data was presented that can be looked at objectively and evaluated scientifically. I understand that people want desperately to understand the causes of autism and other developmental disorders, but what is needed is scientific rigor and method, not rumour mongering.

Am I pro-vaccine? Yes. I was a molecular biologist who specialized in infectious disease. I have seen what disseminated measles does to a person. Measles was still killing one million kids a year in developing countries when I was in grad school.

Personally, I think autism will be found to be genetic and epigenetic. What will people do if that is the case?”

Be careful! If deaths and disability ensue from unimmunized children, public opinion will easily sway with the body of scientific evidence and the overwhelming number of experts in this field as opposed to a fringe group. Yes, lawyers will be waiting on both sides, waiting too believe/help who ever they can.

As if all of these same people you are accusing of causing ill on other people do not have families of their own. Same on you!”

If their story was similar, I'd be amazed. What does amaze me is the differences in their anecdotes (other than they were 'normal' then after (ambiguous time frame) they were not). When experts in autism and developmental disorders look at old home movies (pre-immunizations) they can see that they are displaying traits typical in children with autism. These parents do not know and have not been trained in identifying the progressive stages as the disorder ensues. For example, children born with an extra chromosome 21 will look and develop normally, but eventually deteriorate in specific cognitive functions (Downs Syndrome). We know it is a whole chromosome (easy to see with a microscope), but until recently, we have been able to see small extra pieces/missing segments of some chromosomes that have a similar progression through development.

There are maybe 100 disorders that occur over time. Look at schizophrenia. Or sickle cell anemia. People age, we develop, we employ and shut down various sets of genes. It is no different with autism. Look into copy number variants and stage-specific gene expression.”

“Living in Canada this is a big issue here. Doctors here recommend 1000 IUs per day. 5,000 sounds very high to me , however the body will use only what it needs. Another problem is all the low and fat free products out there. The body needs some fat to help absorb the Vit. D.
