“That so called Jobs bill wouldn't have helped anything and your dems didn't even want to vote on it...they kept pushing the bill back in the senate. Why would we give Obama ANOTHER check so that he can use only 6% of the funds for shovel-ready jobs, just like he did with TARP? Most of this money creates more of a headache for states, because the states have to then continue these programs once federal monies run their course. Obama is staging...he knows their was ZERO intention of that bill passing, so what better to do than to waste more time while people are hurting. This is a game to them. Newsflash!! Obama IS a politician, he don't care about you! You wanna help this economy? Talk about why it is so much easier to erect a warehouse in China than it is here...REGULATION”
Christian Howell on Oct 21, 2011 at 13:07:38
“It wouldn't have helped EVERYTHING, but it would have set a nice spark under the fire that isn't our economy. Shovel ready is when STATE governments efficiently approve projects. The Fed only has overarching regs, they are all implemented at the state level which is what the problem is.
And based on how many TP signs are misspelled and the amount of guns they have, it seems like cops and teachers would be a great investment. Having a few million more pay checks going tot taxes and spending would be SOMETHING.
Th GOP plan is to give the corps and rich more money and pray they actually hire and give raises. If they're Americans it's a no-brainer. If they're greedy scum who don't care then let the VooDoo curses begin.

“Again with the deregulation. What got us into this mess in the first place? You really think banks and other business are going to regulate themselves?”
bookstuboo on Oct 21, 2011 at 13:00:08
“Tarp = Bush. Another post from a keyboard cowboy with no factual substance.”
“It saddens me to see this bill fall, as I have been watching this bill and I thought it was a relatively good bill. I don't like that it creates more bureaucracy, but I thought it was passable in a temporary sight and, my fellow conservatives....shame on you for knocking this bill. If we want to talk about saving our economy, this bill would have added to that discussion.”
“Look, I'm just as conservative as anyone, but Michelle running for president is a joke! Will she ever answer a question? Just one question!!?! Sure, if this was a race for statistician in chief, she'd definitely have my vote...”
TimFredrickson on Oct 21, 2011 at 12:52:53
“Reginald: Who is your candidate? (And) Who has the best shot as the "R" nominee? Two different questions. Thanks.”
Grunty1 on Oct 21, 2011 at 12:46:01
“You should probably be concerned that a large portion of the "conservatives" would still vote of her on a ballot.”
“If you wanna talk about contrast, wait til 2013 and see the sharp contrast between the new administrations policies and this failed administration when they're voted out of office. I'm sorry to inform you.....but regardless of what the liberal media decides to propagate, Obama is a one-term president.”
“It's their money....King Putt has created an atmosphere that has frozen the faith of companies, and I read just the other day from Steve Wynn, of Wynn Resorts in LV, a DEMOCRAT that it's gonna continue to be that way until this man is GONE, google Steve Wynn and see for yourself”
“If King Putt cared so much about saving these entitlement programs he should be the first regime to stop spending the money like its part of the general fund...its supposed to be set aside isn't it, otherwise it's a taxation program under the guise of SS, Medicare and Medicaid.
And he also should have never signed the bush tax cuts into an extension now that he wants to take them back...Don't tell me what King Putt says, tell me what he does....”
“Benjamin Franklin didn't create this mess and neither did Jesus. King Putt and his regime has caused a pause in the private sector to spend and hire. Did you know that out of 800 billion dollars of stimulus money for "shovel ready" jobs, only 6%....SIX PERCENT went to shovel ready jobs.....WAKE UP, they are all in it for THEMSELVES”
“It's challenged because it doesn't make sense!!! The biggest money making scam in the history of this country is HUMAN interference of climate change. I guess humans interfered and caused the ice age, right? Al Gore is the biggest scam artist in climate change, he believed in it so much he kept using tons of energy at his home til he was caught in a media firestorm.
And we need the EPA for food scares? What the hell is the FOOD and drug administration for. We have all these different bureaus that takes care of something another bureau should be taking care of, that creates waste fraud and abuse!! HELLO!!!”
“This administration is playing in the dark, you liberals need to wake up. Every business is stacking their profits, afraid to spend afraid to hire because King Putt keeps screaming the word redistribution. This talk is indicative of socialist regimes and totalitarian gov'ts.”
BlueHorde on Jul 25, 2011 at 19:34:43
“The only talk about "redistribution" is from FOX news and the GOP fringe spreading FUD. Obama is to the right of Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford and to a large degree Reagan, the problem is that his election made the right lose their minds.”
“McConnells option wasn't an option, it was his way of trying to box the President in and we weren't gonna allow King Putt to increase his economic power. The 14th amendment use strips away the balance of power, but I'm sure King Putt doesn't care about that after using reconciliation to pass Puttcare”
“under king putt's leadership (or lack thereof), it'll never happen. This deal they're proposing is phony, out of the 1.6 trillion dollar deficit King Putt will drive us in this year (Bush's largest annual deficit...400 billion, not good, but it's been trillions every year with King Putt) wont get paid off. This bill only slashes 111 billion of spending next year, we aren't even beginning to touch the debt. King Putt and his minions haven't had a budget all year, what makes you think they want anything more than a blank check to rail-road the American people with.”
the party leadership always wanted a deal and you know it, they've been trying to appease the farthest right wing of the party. If u really don't know or believe that, u don't know anything about politics!”
Basselope on Jul 24, 2011 at 11:51:54
“I am referring to the far right wing of the party. They are the 22%ers.”
“you're correct and i should have been clearer. As a republican I don't agree with the structure of the Bush Tax Cuts either. I was ultimately speaking of the health insurance costs for employees. I am no small business owner, but my mom is, and in this part of the country, they are killing her so you definitely have the upper hand in this discussion”
tempist771 on Jul 24, 2011 at 10:15:52
“I think health insurance costs are nuts. Costs have been going up , and service has been cut for years while the insurance companies are making record profit. I am a cancer survivor, who survived partially because I had insurance that covered the costs ( I know a couple of people who went through cancer treatment and never even knew the cell type (one died)-- this is blatant malpractice, but HMOs are protected from lawsuits.). Our business used to carry blue cross but their premiums got outrageous, and we constantly had to argue with them over coverage of basic stuff - drugs, procedures etc. We were lucky to find a non-profit insurer connected to our local university hospital. We pay about 8k for a family and have never had a problem with coverage.
I personally think tax breaks if used strategically would be a good thing. Give lower tax rates to companies who operate primarily in the US and employ US citizens. Right now I think that we reward behavior that is antithetical to US economic interests”
“That's the same line you guys used before the midterm, the American public saw right through it. Don't think that the majority of Americans are biting the liberal agenda...maybe the majority of huffpost readers”
“Not good at all. And I agree with your statement. My argument is...who read it? Had to pass it first (Pelosi). Its a small business killer (mandate) prices go down for health insurance by trading over state lines (that should have been a rough start. Nothing is good with the government intruding on our lives, period”
“what do you think you're doing? Unthinking rep isn't an attack on me personally. its a shame to see that this country can't have solid debate without all the name calling. I'm not demonizing you in any way. I mean exactly what I said, and I do respect your opinion, I just hope that we can come away with this with a difference of opinion but with greater respect for each other as human beings”
“which is why it amuses me to hear Bush, Bush Bush. Obama hasn't changed anything. War in Iraq....check
War in Afghanistan.....check
Trade agreements with S Korea, Panama, Columbia that will cost more manufacturing jobs..............uh check
