“No, actually.. I've already won.
Short story...
I hired a woman about 5-6 years ago, high school diploma, single Mom, and very little job experience, and certainly zero job experience in my line of work.
But, I took a chance on this lady.
Today, she is my number 3 person in my facility, my Lead Inspector.
She went back to school, got her degree on her own time, I paid nothing towards this.
I don't know how she did it, with a child and other obligations.
About 1 1/2 ago, we moved to Utah to avoid the Prop 30 taxes.
In San Diego, she rented, today she owns a home.

THESE are the kind of people.. women I admire.
I don't like whiners or crybaby's.
Step up, do the job, or get out of my shop.”

“A man who chooses between drinking a glass of milk and a glass of a solution of potassium cyanide does not choose between two beverages; he chooses between life and death. A society that chooses between capitalism and socialism does not choose between two social systems; it chooses between social cooperation and the disintegration of society. Socialism is not an alternative to capitalism; it is an alternative to any system under which men can live as human beings.

The Social Contract idea came from Locke and Rousseau. Jefferson edited possession out and replaced it w/ happiness. Franklin signed both the Del.of Indep. and Constitution The Social Contract was developed before Franklin was born. You are entitled to an unsupported opinion but not your own facts. If Franklin had not approved of the preamble he would have opposed it and not signed the Constitution.

Lastly, wasn't the murderous Robespierre the disciple Rousseau?

"For the time being, we have to do with what we have, that is, a very diverse and heterogeneous set of data sources on wealth: historical inheritance declarations and estate tax statistics, scarce property and wealth tax data, and household surveys with self-reported data on wealth (with typically a lot of under-reporting at the top). As I make clear in the book, in the on-line appendix, and in the many technical papers I have published on this topic, one needs to make a number of adjustments to the raw data sources so as to make them more homogenous over time and across countries. I have tried in the context of this book to make the most justified choices and arbitrages about data sources and adjustments. I have no doubt that my historical data series can be improved and will be improved in the future." [end quote]

As to questioning his book's thesis...
He's writing at a good time in history, people are willing to listen.
Again, no need to manipulate data, just write the thesis.”

“WOW. You've never worked with data, have you? This is standard for large meta-analysis studies. What you're accusing Dr. Pinketty of without saying it is starting from a conclusion and working backwards. There is no indication that he did not employ rigorous scientific method to the analysis of his data.
You would love a dark conspiracy, but it ain't there. This is the academic scientific method as it is practiced in academic studies.”
