“LOL! Yeah, been there, done that. I would rather my children be spunky than submissive.”

“As the parent of 3 spunky girls, I completely respect and love your goddaughter's behavior. She has so much wisdom and back bone already. I have been telling my loud, but lovely girls to worry about themselves for years.”

“I use the term to mean someone without a sense of humor or perspective or someone who can't help but find the negative in everything.”

“I am so glad the wet blankets made themselves known quickly here. Her behavior now is tempered by the fact that she is a toddler. She can be spunky and respectful. Parenting doesn't stop in toddlerhood. Why can't spunkiness be seen as a future asset rather than a harbinger for a difficult teenager? It's all in how you frame it. Lighten up, people, lighten up!!!!”

“When did parents lose their sense of humor? The cartoon is supposed to be funny. Somehow the PC argument of why parents should even bother going out of the house when they have young children pops up. Yes, we should raise our children with expectations of good behavior and rules. We should also all be aware that children will be children and have bad day. As a mom to 3 children, I know what it feels like to be stared at in restaurants even when my children are sitting nicely and behaving. And yes, family restaurants, not fancy hoity toity restaurants, where everyone walks around with wedgies. I know, we are all supposed to just go to McDonalds where are kind are welcomed with open arms.”

“maybe they are staring because your kids are well behaved.it seems to be a rarity these days.”

“the cartoon is still funny.

The article written to accompany it in this Huffpost, is not.”

“I have 3 children. Number one was a typical scream your lungs out baby who wouldn't take NO for an answer ever. Number two was sleeping for 6 hours a night at 10 weeks of age. She was BORN that way. Number three is a hybrid of the two. No two children are alike. I hate labels like AP or DP. Parenting is not done by sleeping books or manuals. It is intuitive and spontaneous. It wouldn't even occur to us judge our fellow warrior if we stopped caring about what the other one was doing. Stop sitting around staring at everybody else and just take care of your own. For heaven's sake, ladies....”
